  1. An ex DOLer had this happen with her boy at the beach. He ended up very sick but is fine now. Hope Sally is better soon :)
  2. They go up and down with the flick of a button, and the ones in the backseat can be locked with a child lock so that kids can't fiddle with them (and so dogs can't open them!). I hope your girl gets better soon, it must have been horrible for you all.
  3. My dogs are ace. They see the blankets come out and know I'm not at work so just tuck themselves up on the couch for a day of sleeping or go outside for zoomies on their own.
  4. Same here! I can cook up a dish without a piece of kelpiex hair in it, but then i'll plate it up and start eating it and find hair in the middle
  5. Maybe itll stop some of the others who do it there too. Ive seen that dog there before.
  6. Umm maybe because its a forum?? What a ridiculous thing to say about Willow.. You come up with some whacky comments. I just hope the poor person never finds this thread and reads it. Some of you are nasty. I really feel for him.
  7. Yep. I have a racetrack going from the back steps, between the holes he dug, around the bbq, behind the orange tree, up around the clothesline, along the shed, and back to the steps. We can get some head down bum up speed going around those corners, and sometimes get faceplants into the grass pile
  8. They do but not in the northern burbs... Its run in Hawthorn.
  9. The laundry is too small to have a dog bed in it unfortunately. They have a good setup for dogs outside and our two oldies were perfectly happy in fact they preferred being out to inside.
  10. Hi All, My mum's looking for a new dog, and I was wondering if anyone knows of one that might fit what we're after? *Over 12 months of age *Doesn't jump or pull *Short coat *Good with kids & cats *Happy to live alone *OK to sleep outside at night but spend time inside during the day. *Doesn't jump fences Home is on half an acre in the country, surrounded by cows, horses and dogs next door. Mum's home all weekend every weekend pretty much, and when they do go away the dog will be able to go too. I currently have a Vizsla and a Kelpie x at my place, and Mum would ideally like a dog around a similar size. Are we likely to find it hard considering they want the dog to sleep outside?? Must be located in VIC, up to 2-3hrs from Melbourne or Warragul ok.
  11. We're driving an hour tomorrow, and meeting on neutral territory only 5 mins from the carer's home, However i'd definitely be willing to travel up to a few hours. I wouldn't expect the carer to meet half way, but would appreciate them being accommodating if one of the existing dogs was coming along for the m&g and find somewhere closeby to their house that is neutral. In your situation, i'd be running a million miles an hour and looking elsewhere though, it sounds fishy.
  12. Congratulations! I didnt realise noms had closed. I had someone i really wanted to nominate too
  13. $180 every visit sounds excessive!! What on earth are they doing? Cortizone jab should only be about $15 plus consult, well mine is... Time to keep your boy off the grass where possible!
  14. Ouch My boy had a similar reaction last year, but not quite so bad... His turned out to be grass allergies, and we're battling them again this year, but slightly worse as the allergy spread to his ears and we had a lot of problems for a few weeks. We have to keep him inside during the day while we're at work, or else he'll drag himself around on the grass and end up with a red inflamed stomach and make his armpits bleed. We left him out on Christmas day because we were leavinh early and coming home late, and ever since he's gone backwards again. We've also got him on a sensitive skin dry food as well. If you have any phenergen, he could have half/one of those depending on his size, you get it from the chemist behind the counter, so it could be an option for today until you can book him into the vet.. I find it works really well to ease the intial itchiness if there's nothing else on hand. We bath Bundy in Aloveen shampoo on a regular basis, and Aloveen conditioner is rubbed directly onto his armpits and stomach, this takes the heat out and helps him relax and stops him trying to scratch. Our vet seems to think that they can get worse over time, as we had no problems the first year, and now we've had issues for 2 years in a row.If possible try and stop him crawling through the house, it'll only make it worse
  15. Bummer there isn't any a bit later in the year!
  16. Does anyone know what ET's are being run in Vic?? I'm looking at training with my boy but June might be pushing it, which is a pity as I know there's one nice and close to home around then
  17. My dogs had to SHARE a christmas present!!!!!!!
  18. When the poor deprived dogs got lrft home outside on christmas day (in the nice weather with new toys). Upon arrival home we were greeted with enthusiasm then they put themselves to bed, not leaving us room. Just a bit tired i think.
  19. I don't think she comes on here much anymore, if at all but I agree that her mix is wonderful and so affordable, and well Isiss is just ace :D
  20. Black Hawk quadrupled the amount of poop my guys made.. Swapped them onto a different food and they went back to twice a day.
  21. Brilliant name for a Viz :) No advice, but good luck with her, Vizsla's are the best dogs, I adore mine.
  22. Mine expect they will get fed at a certain time, but they don't. Like tonight they were good (hadnt complained yet) so they got fed early. If they start whining from say 6pm then dinner gets later and later the more they whine, but its still normally around 730before they get it.
  23. Ours act like theyre dying from 630 if theyre hungry. Some nights they dont realise its past teatime at 730!!!
  24. The worst here is that Bund is on cortizone tablets and as such he's really thirsty, and if he inhales a whole bowl and wants more before we replace it he's learnt to go to the toilet to drink out of there So we have to keep the door hut all the time!
  25. I just really really really need to pull my finger out to find a club to join and STICK WITH IT! I am a shocking procrastinator. I want to have Bundy a lot more motivated and really enjoying training, and cementing our obedience more. Wouldn't mind giving RallyO a burl either... Ohh and ET would be a bit of fun, but I wouldn't know where to begin with that one...
