They are tinted, but car is on the drive in full sun. i think i will look at a sun visor for the back window and top of crate for when its parked, thanks for that.
-
boot of Rav 4. aircon is pretty good in the car , its just the sun shines right through the back window so crate gets hot sitting there .
-
We have had 2 vet appointments lately where we had to go and it was days where we hit 40 degrees. the bottom of the crate has a plastic tray and bedding, its just the front was hot to touch by the time we came out of vets again. i looked at bunnings site and they have the reflective tarps.

I bought a metal crate for car trips because white dog who slobbers and sheds in black interior car didn't work ! However on hot days the metal is untouchable. I have covered it with a sheet , but a freind said you can get cool covers, but i can't find any. I did borrow a soft crate to try before i bought the metal one, but thought it seemed hotter to travel in as more enclosed. What does everyone use? I could get a soft crate if that is cooler.

non, mine swallows them both whole!

Roo meat, VANS , veggies. plus half a cup of supercoat kibble ( because she had it before i got her and she won't eat it otherwise!)

This home sounds like it could work , as long as they know whats happened a life on a farm might be just what the old chook needs later in his life. Don't forget dogs get dumped at pounds alot , old dogs too, and they adapt pretty well, i have had a few oldies and they settle much faster. I know it will be hard on you, but he maybe much happier without living under that constant stress. I had to make the call once of one of mine that was too dangerous , after proffessional advice he became too much of a liability , i often wonder if i could have done more, but my head said i had to. there is no reason why you could trial the new home to see how everyone goes.

You see people still have the perception that purebred means more money and these days it doesn't . Unless you are talking frenchies or BB . The designer dogs fetch way more .
-
nope. oodles are still in abundance here i'm afraid.

Mooreholme came back with quote $5 less than jet pets . Breeder always uses jetpets he said . He has offered to drop him at airport for me and is sending me a video of him , only have a few blurry pics to go on atm. He isn't due to go till 11th anyway .
-
thanks, i have sent them an enquiry, jepets so far have given the best price with crate hire. And Harley has offered to help and look at him for me, the wonderful DOLERS again!
-
Will compare thanks .

Yes Ming , it was your link that did it ! And only one male brindle black scuffer in litter all others were girls or blue . Now just working out logistics and getting a bit scared tbh . Years of fostering and just adding another to a big pack I never batted an eyelid . But after losing all but one of mine recently it's made me overthink it . I know the chances of meeting a stag pup in the flesh in Sydney is highly unlikely and if I want one it will be like this . not helping that my kids hate the look of stags and really wanted a BT pup .

i just found out there is a "like" button! always wanted one! -
i will soon! yes, a doler linked me to an older boy on FB , but he got rehomed , and breeder mentioned he currently had a litter so i pounced!
-
Thanks M, you have been a great help. Jetpets were very friendly and helpful ,and the "breeder" said he used them as his pups go all over Aus.
-
M , just spoke to virgin and they quoted $ 201 without crate hire, and then i rang jetpets who quoted $153 with a crate! wonder what carrier they use, not virgin i assume.
-
Thankyou M ! the pup is only going to be 8 weeks, but big breed, Harley has offered to help , i think the breeder is close to airport so they may offer to drop him . Do i have to ring a particular number for Virgin? freight? price is not as bad as i thought, is it a long flight for them?
-
Anyone done it? Assume fly? Do you hire a crate? Just waiting on weight and size of pup before i look at quotes, but recommedation on best company would be good. thanks
-
Thanks Maddy, i think i have found a pup, he is from SA though so trying to see how hard and expensive to get him here. Litter of lurcher/ stag/wolfie pups , one male brindle scruffer boy available still.

i'd take my dumb dog anyday, being a terrier she wants to know whats in it for her first. i have no interest in a dog who wants me to throw a ball allday and looks at me waiting for me to instruct it. i would rather laugh everyday because why go around something when you can barge straight through it. -
There was a lady in my suburb bought one like the 3 wheeler buggy but especially for dogs. She said it wasn't cheap, but easy to push and she had 2 other dogs walking alongside . It was for her old bully , he wasn't big for a bully it had a roof aswell and he couldn't jump out , can't remember name but think it was from the states.

Zip lock bags . I rinse and reuse them . I split 5kg bags of roo up onto 2 days worth and freeze . Keep Vans in cupboard in plastic container and veggies enough for 2 to 4 days in plastic container in fridge .

I did see him,and did condsider taking himm too! The other boy has just been listed on petrescue today aswell. I did get him checked out, but not sure whats going on as he is listes as 8 on petrescue and the person who tested him for me said pound said he was 11! He has a skin issue that too, and with both, and Zelda being sick atm i cant committ to something thats not confirmed as just flea allergy.
