There are pros and cons both ways, i have had well bred purebred dogs with a mirade of health issues, my current one is an endless pit of money, but i love the breed. I have had x breds who never went to the vet, and others who did. Reg breeders are not all good either, if you choose to go the purebred route ask for recommendations here,not all are made equal. Decide what you want in a dog and then look at compatible breeds. bullbreedboy, i like your thinking

Just remember to take your time and don't rush into the first cute pup you see. ( hard i know!). Dont kid yourself on what you can offer a breed, if you don't think you are upto lots of exercise be honest, it will only make life hard later, everyone starts off thinking the will walk everday for hours and then a few weeks later reality sets in and you have become too attached to the dog. a good rescue will give you a trial period .

perhaps you could list the things you liked in your previous dog to get advice on which breed would suit? i second jill from jack russel rescue,she could match up a dog for you, they come in different ages and temps. i used to own a rough coat jack in the UK , loved them.

i would hate to think it might be because she is avoiding the other other dog , and she is miserable. perhaps you should look into it, wouldnt hurt.

The problem is people not recognizing what their breed was bred for, and not accepting its capabilities. that then sets the dog up for failure.

He has set up in an area where there is alot of money and designer dogs, its a huge growing area. He is not stupid, he is after the custom of oodle owners, so saying it was a staffy and they are banning them will be aimed at that market. I see no Stafford , or any bull breed bits in that dog whatsoever either. more likely working breed mixes.

Its often everything else that adds up, but he will also give me a script for the chemist if the human version is cheaper, which Mobic is. To be honest I don't see the problem, they are a business ,just like any other service you use, they can charge what they like.

A good way to get the smell out of fake grass is to use liquid chlorine diluted in a watering can , rinse it, then hose it down. I do my lawn every month and its works really well.

i'm amazed at the protocol for this, what if they did have something, they would now be contaminating any other dog on that flight too. what maddy says on D rings etc. I have a martingale i had made for my bully as normal collars slip over her head when she goes for walks and just stops . :laugh: I don't leave it on her, so bought a flat collar too ( that way i got to choose another design), which just has the buckle and no D ring as its just for at home. I buy those leather wipes from Woolies and just wipe them down every few days in summer. I have had them at least 3 years and they still look new, will post a pic later. I have the Namaste2D in black,the Savannah in brown martingale ,the Ranger in the dark red leather, and i had the day time one for Bonne custom made using heart conchos on light brown leather and gold studs. They are really helpful, you can mix and match.

i didn't pay anywhere near that for mine, they are soft double layered top notch leather, and they swim in them everyday in summer. :D
