  1. I have only been going in when no one is in there, its huge and has 4 exits points, so i can see who is comming in, then i leave and sit at the skate park opposite and watch the chaos I just can't beleive she thought muzzling them would stop them starting anything, which clearly reactive dogs will finish.
  2. I have been going to the skate park with my son alot over the hols, and there is a big fenced dog park opposite, so i have been taking my dogs early to avoid the rush time, and leaving and sitting outside when it gets busy. So today i am just about to leave, a young girl came especially to pat my dally, so waited to let her say hello, when i see a lady with 2 whippys comming in ,both had muzzle's on. As i was by the entrance, i asked her why they were muzzled. She said a dog like "that thing" pointing at my BT had injured one of her whippys and the bull breed owner had accused her dog of starting it, so now she puts muzzle's on them so no one could accuse her dogs of starting anything. I then watched her female whippy continually go for other dogs, most who were trying to avoid her. A couple arrived with an elderly dobe, very docile and sweet, she had literally just walked in when the female whippy went straight for her, the dobe tried avoidance, moved her body and head out of fire, but got pinned against the fence, the dobe owner went towards her dog to help, the whippy owner started to yell " don't you touch my dog it has a muzzle on it can't hurt it, don't you dare hit her or i will hit you!". The dobe owner had no intention of hitting the whippy! I just can't believe the stupidy of this owner, she is putting her dogs at risk, it clearly starts the problems, and it now cannot defend itself. The woman clearly doesn't get that her dogs can still cause trouble with a muzzle on! It will end badly and another dog will get blamed for her dogs bad behavoir The one good thing was i got to meet my first Cane Corso there, stunning big black boy who was very friendly.
  3. Pockets, are you sure about letting Tig go? Did you mean to keep him forever? Its a big call, and i know you want to do the right thing, but you are hurting too, don't forget about yourself in all of this.
  4. I wouldn't count on mine to do a thing . I count on my dallys very big bark if anyone comes near the house, and my BT'S looks  But if push came to shove, doubt any of them would protect me, they would run and hide i'm sure!
  5. Perhaps they are put down under a different name, or even sold to a third party who does it for them so not to ne traced back?
  6. At one time i was walking about 3 families dogs. All had 3 dogs each, so taking one of mine was not a good idea, bear in mind not everyone's dogs walk well onlead and its not easy  I really enjoyed it, in fact it made me fall for Rottie's, as i had always been a bit wary of them till i started to walk a friends 2 while he had surgery, they are now on my list of breeds i would like to own, so its a good way of sussing out a breed for you. Give yourself plenty of time at each job, it takes a while to get in, get slobbered on and get them sorted when you get back, and travelling inbetween too. The other thing is in summer you may not get much done during the really hot part of the day ,depending on the breeds, and may end up working at either end of the day more.
  7. i forgot what they are called, but i bought the round plastic ones you heat in the microwave too for last year. i wrapped them in a pillow case and they lasted all night outside in the kennels, they were still warm in the mornings. :)
  8. I just wanted to say how sorry i am ,and what a kind breeder you are offering another pup. I wouldn't let it go either.
  9. me too, non facebook oldie here too
  10. My 3 all have leather collars from 'Karmacollars". guaranteed for life, brilliant quality and postage from the USA is only $16. They do plain collars with nameplates. Mine cost under $200 for all 3. :)
  11. Just out of interest, why do they keep bouncing back? what is it about that x that makes them not easy? I saw one once a couple of years ago in a park in Blacktown, young male with a family, he was very unsure of the other dogs, big gangly thing.
  12. I use Advocate on mine, and if i had a foster who arrived with flea's i gave them a Capstar to kill them then Advocate. Always worked well.
  13. I got a 2 yr old bitch who had been used for breeding, her tum went up only a little bit, its the first thing people ask me ' is she having pups", as its still droopy. Pop to the vet to make sure all is ok, good food and exercise, but sometimes it just won't go back, depends on how fit they were before too, mine was a kennel dog who is lazy so figured she never had a washboard tum anyway
  14. Love the chair too, where is it from?
  15. When i took her for more meds the vet nurse was telling me it could be the long grass ,the sticky stuff as it holds fungi/bacteria on it? Forget exactly what she said. It would make sense, council havn't cut the grass for ages and it knee length in places. p.s x rated sites, me ,now thats a laugh, if only i had the courage
  16. Thankyou Corvus, i think they would be perfect.
  17. He is likely to do this again, with the outcome not being so good, so you do really have to report it.
  18. The last time i moved i left my dally till last, then got oh to take him for a big walk while i took all his stuff and placed it at the new house. I also didn't make a big fuss over him, just stay calm and relaxed and get into the routine straight away.
  19. The dog snood is no good, its the face that needs covering. I suppose i could get some lycra and make a kind of open ended sock and slide it over ,then cut holes for ears and eye's, i just suck at making anything and dont have a machine. Its for a BT. i just looked at the horse "skinny hoods" and thats exactly the deign i mean, but just too big.
  20. I used to give them to my dally, but after a while it didn't seem to have any effect. He is now on Mobic tablets daily which helps.
  21. This may seem like an odd request, but can you buy stretchy dog hoods? One of my dogs is allergic to something that is making her head come out in bumps, i have removed everything in my garden she can reach and she still has them, so i think its something on our walk she is putting her face in. When i had horses in the UK they had stretchy hoods you pulled on and tied round the neck, this would be perfect. I need something tight and stretchy to cover her head, under her jaw etc where the bumps come up. I have tried to google "dog hoods" , but get some very disturbing SM pictures!
  22. I would never leave a check chan on a dog, far too easy to loosen and catch on something. I use leather martingale's with chain parts on, but no longer leave them on as one of my dogs was laying under an iron table outside once and as she got up the round chain looped over the table corner, she nearly strangled herself trying to get free and dragging a huge table around, luckily i was at home at the time.
  23. Looks like there are 2 dogs she is getting rid of, add below is from her too.
  24. sorry hadn't thought about getting it, i get mine from the petshop it has fresh meat in daily, so i buy roo in bulk and freeze it. its too pricey at the supermarket to buy.
