  1. I love the Augustine's SuperBoost. I have had both my guys on it for 3 months now & have have noticed dramatic improvements in their over all appearance. Especially my boy who had huge coat issues previously after a food intolerance. His coat is back to it's beautiful, shiny self again
  2. Thanks stans mum. With some of the horror stories I have read on here about careless groomer's I just wanted to find one for mum's boy that could be trusted. I will pass on those details. Much appreciated :) I found this one called Hill Top k9 grooming at Point Claire that had rave reviews. Maybe that might be another option for her as it is closer to Ettalong where she lives. Wonder if anyone has heard anything about them???
  3. Max wouldn't use hers either, I think it was the noise. So when we got Boston I gave it to him and he loved it, so of course Max immediately decided it was her favorite bed and no one else was allowed to use it Reverse psychology works ;)  & yes I think it is the noise too. $160 worth of noise
  4. I brought a BarkaParka for Stella before I got her. Wonderful bed... Shame she won't even put her paw on it I put it out for her & Stella looked at it & that's it She hates it. So it is sitting in the spare room gathering dust. They are well worth the money if your dog likes them though. Extremely well made & easy to remove covers for washing.
  5. Hi guys, Was wondering if anyone could recommend a really good groomer on the Central Coast. It's for my mum's little elderly SWF as her usual groomer has moved. Preferably around the Woy Woy to Gosford area? Thanks in advance :)
  6. I don't have any need for them either but agree, such a kind gesture bcnut :)
  7. Oh, I just wanted to say I loved the sound of all of this post. New rescue, out & about safely on long line having fun with his new loving owners. Wonderful for all concerned & thank you :) Sorry to take this thread "slightly off topic".
  8. Just thinking I really varied my boy's exercise while I increased it. We have always had a fair bit of exercise but I included more hill work & swimming . Swimming is great as there is no stress on their bodies. I did exercise plus cut food by one third & tweaked his diet a bit. Added mash pumkin as a filler. No weight isues again. He looks great now, very happy :)
  9. Happy Birthday Miss Trixie Another beautiful photo Ruthless of your beautiful dogs. And as Mita has said & it is so true dogs do get a certain look in their eye's when they are truly happy & adored. This photo says it all. Awesome .....
  10. I saw those on Ebay. Great idea imo :)
  11. 50 feet long is a bit too long IMOH. It is all the more for you to try & not get tangled. I have one from K9 Pro. Very good non slip. around 30 feet from memory.
  12. I'm ever so sorry ish. Your heart must be in broken in two OMG She was the same age as my boy. I just can't begin to imagine your pain .... Beautiful girl gone far too soon. RIP Laila Run pain free now
  13. I have Border collies. Have owned this breed since childhood. Have always found them to be very loyal/faithful. Some quite fiercely protective of me. Others not so much. Sonny always lets me know if there is anybody about. Big bark, sounds cranky but in all honesty I doubt he would take it much further. Apart from put the kettle on for them  Stella would be the one that would bail someone up if they went to enter the b/yard & she didn't know them. She growls when we walk of a night & someone might walk up a bit close to us if she takes a dislike to them. I have to watch her as she does bare her teeth etc sometimes & I do think given the opportunity she may take it further. It is out of fear IMHO. I had a rescue BC for almost 15 years, wonderful dog but hardly ever barked if there was anyone about. He would bail them up. Had a couple of instances with the meter reader. He would ring me on his mobile & I'd have to go & call "Redman" off him so he could leave He would let them in but wouldn't allow them to leave. He gave no warning signals either & he was lightening fast. Had some furniture delivered one day & as the guy was coming through the front door carrying the lounge suite, fine but when he went to walk out Redman grabbed him by his jeans leg & wouldn't let go, growling etc Just certain people, always men, if he didn't like then. We had a man come to do some work in our b/yard & he wouldn't let him get down off his tractor. Every time the poor man went to get down, he'd lunge at him teeth bared. I had to tie him up until he was finished. Must say I can understand why as he was extremely abused both physically & mentally by his previous owners. He never once so much as growled at me though, ever. He was natures gentleman with me. I adored him.
  14. Both of mine are so different. My girl right from 12 weeks old, I threw a ball, she retrieved it & brought it straight back & dropped it at my feet. I didn't teach her, she just did it. Must be a rubber ball though, not a tennis ball or any other sort. She makes no attempt to chase them, just watches them go by She will retrieve a rubber ball forever as long as I throw it. But Sonny never brings it back. So I end up going to pick it up for him. Probably where I have gone wrong... I play fetch with both my guys at once, just take turns & they know who's turn it is cause if I by accident throw to Stella twice in a row, Sonny runs up to me & barks right at me like "that was my turn"
  15. Sorry I couldn't either... Adore my dogs but no way :)
  16. Sorry no help to you as I can sympathise as my male BC does the exact same thing. Does retrieve the ball but only bring it back the first couple of times after that he comes half way back or not at all but wants me to chase him. I never have chased him but can't seem to understand to bring the ball directly back to me. So will follow this thread closely for some helpful clues to solve our retrieve problems :)
  17. I have a Weatherbeta Lite that I brought for Sonny but it isn't completely waterproof which is a shame as they are very well made.
  18. Your not silly at all julesP :)
  19. Raya, glad it's not just me then, as I too am after totally waterproof coat, well 2 of them actually. Love the ones at the Wolfs den but page wouldn't load, sent emails etc, no reply. So now I understand why, derrrrr. LOL.Every other coat I have looked at are lined which I don't need. I only need it to keep them dry not warm as I have double coated breed. Wonder when Wolf's den will be back? Just had to edit as I just stumbled across another really nice unlined dog coat made by Caribu, they make Horse rugs. They are called Bellaru Alpine lite dog coats & say they are w/proof. Look pretty impressive & not to badly priced :)
  20. You are both the best Nicole & Scott.. happy tears now. As for the X "owners". I too don't want to be kicked off DOL so I will leave my opinion of these human filth to your vivid imagination. Enjoy the rest of your now very happy lives pan lickers :D
  21. Very clever ! Loved it KD, thanks for sharing :)
