  1. I must admit that I do that... but the auto settings I use haven't really failed me yet... *grin* Not to mention that I bought the 60D in 2011 and it's never skipped a beat - and I have used it a LOT! Can't afford a new camera at the moment (starving student), but can dream, yes? T. Can definitely dream!
  2. Yep - they have smaller legs when they are to breed standard. I have found she is not the only Grandie in the world with long legs though - they seem to be common in the breed - often long legged pups in the litter, and some with ultra-short legs too - smaller than what the breed standard likes. Having talked to other Grandie owners in Europe, she will likely grow between the size between the adult sized Briquet Griffon Vendeen, and the Grand Griffon Vendeen. Neither of those breeds are found in Australia. So a bit like munchkin cats- some long legged and some short. She is beautiful even if she does have model legs :D I really love those other two breeds!
  3. Ive been looking into one of these too as i want one a bit larger than the clam shell, you can get stock feeders/waterers or ponds. but i havent decided which i want yet. The bone ones are adorable but not worth $500! May as well make an actual mini pool for that
  4. Ooops! Soz Tintin Jac! I forgot to come back also! :D You can follow Autumn quietly on Insta - as you can see, she is a long-legged kid: https://www.instagram.com/autumn_gbgv/ This is the last pic I posted of her on there, taken last week at the park: https://www.instagra.../p/BLSYRsNBDsd/ She has such long legs! I I thought they had little teeny legs? She is so cute!
  5. I went all out T- Its a canon 5D. And i am so so in love with it. It's not going to be stolen because it barely ever leaves my hands  The 5D is on my wish list... lol! But I'd happily settle for a 7D... or just stick with the trusty 60D that hasn't ever failed me yet... *grin* T. DO IT :D hehe The 60D is what i had, and i also really liked it :D I honestly think the main difference is that i've forced myself to use this one 'properly' because i did spend a bit on it. Whereas previously i let the camera do all the work on the auto settings.
  6. My thoughts exactly Roova, and then a nap in the afternoon to make up for the early start :D it was perfect.
  7. Thank you everyone! I've had my fair share of terrible photos with it too, but i am definitely learning how to use it and just love how these turned out. I actually read the manual, which helped  I barely leave it alone  I love it. The dogs, not so much!
  8. I am at Lennox Head northern NSW just for the weekend, and am very much enjoying the daylight savings because its a bit more respectable to get up with the sun here I have never taken photos of the sunrise before, as in, gone out before its up, and i am so happy with how these turned out. Theres just something about it isn't there? And it was so peaceful, just the dogs and I. Saw one other dog walker with a 7 month old GSD who was gorgeous!
  9. I went all out T- Its a canon 5D. And i am so so in love with it. It's not going to be stolen because it barely ever leaves my hands
  10. They are stunning looking dogs. have always wondered what they are like in terms of temperament.
  11. I definitely missed that memo! I should have been renting out my pack of cavs when they were a trendy breed
  12. I had my camera stolen a few weeks ago, was devastated and got sad being cameraless. So on the weekend i stalked gumtree and found an awesome deal and bought myself a new one. I picked it upon monday, and I LOVE it! Its better than my old one was, so is just amazing to use. Its probably too good for my current skill level, but i'll just have to practice :D Here are a few photos from it.
  13. Two others not in Aus that i'd love: kooikerhondje and tamaskan (there is some tamaskans in Aus, but not really easy to get)
  14. Other than cavs, which i will always like, GSD- nice straight back, long coat Whippet Saluki (have always LOVED these dogs. Whether i could realistically own one im not sure) Greyhound (but i do have cats.. so thats the issue there ) Working springer Standard poodle (but the coat maintenance puts me off..) Large munsterlander- i dont know too much about them. But they look good! Vizsla - female BC for agility. Blue merle, black tri or red/choc tri with two pointed ears Mal - probably too much dog
  15. The coorparoo vet clinic has two wonderful vets who are like that :) I dont think its too far from wishart. Very happy to listen to your opinion, may recommend products but don't push them, they support my raw feeding and late desexing too :) ETA: if you like a natural vet, the one at greenslopes is very into chinese medicine and alternative therapies.
  16. Mot people know the cavs, i occassionally get asked if they are cockers or springers, but even then thats close enough! The funniest was when i was walking Amber, A vizsla, and Kokoda the cav together and was asked if he was her baby  They were the same colour, but the similarities about stopped there. And i thought i saw an affenpinscher pup the pther day at a coffee shop, excitedly asked only to be told he was a pug x shih tzu. It was significantly less exciting for me after that
  17. Yes, agree to the above. + practice! Thats all it is really. The first few times my not be the prettiest, but you'll get the hang of it in no time. Also, there is a correct way to hold the scissors, which can make it easier if you aren't doing so :)
  18. Before winter he was being washed more often with malasleb though I was concerned about how harsh it was. Though it was giving him some relief. He is due for a bath soon so im also trying to decide between a few different shampoos. I was looking at demacare, ivory coat sensitive or Aloveen. Paws nutriderm is what the clinic i used to work in had the best results with. So also one to look into. Also, look into calendula tea. There is a thread on it here and it helps my dogs through allergy season :)
  19. Sasha said the same way for a slightly more feminine version maybe?
  20. The two frenchies i know aren't exactly laid back- but maybe they are more active than the breed generally is. One of them is a terror Cav isnt a bad suggeston, i own three, and live with my sisters- so we have 4 at the moment, but i think in an apartment mine would need to be walked twice a day, definitely at least once. They shed a bit, but not too badly, grooming is quite easy. And you can get them clipped to minimise both of those too. Greyhounds, though large, may fit the bill. They are often pegged as great apartment dogs.
  21. Yes, like show dog said, a comb will hands down be the best brush for this :) But do spend a little extra on a good quality comb- and you'll have to buy online rather than in a pet shop. A greyhound comb is what I would be looking for, half course and half fine (I have no clue why they are called that..) A good conditioner would be beneficial too. I'd also work on coat health from the inside, so feeding some extra omega oils, maybe some tinned sardines or eggs :)
  22. YES! this is poor Deniki. He is always humped, all the time. I thought at first it was because he was entire, but he is now desexed and has been for some time and still everyone humps him.
