  1. Sorry, could be just me but I'd never leave an 11wk old companion breed alone in the back yard. It's a recipe for a very noisy anxious puppy who just wants to be with someone but can't. And can be the beginning of a barking problem. Is there any reason you can't crate train indoors? Crates are a great substitute to a den, it's somewhere they can feel safe, sleep and play with their toys.
  2. Thanks RP we're a bit full, I'm trying to tag Jane (Dogmad) who has contacts with some of the best in Sydney but it won't work! edit; oops I didn't put her full name in LOL @Her Majesty Dogmad .
  3. I've only got dose rates for allergies and although the side effect can be sedation I've never noticed it at the allergy dose rates, probably best to check with your vet for higher doses. Complete calm is good if you're looking for calming but non-sedating, and something you can use daily with no worries. Normally I'd recommend a travel crate too but one for a 15kg dog might take up a fair bit of room!
  4. I got sent this US FDA article not long ago https://www.fda.gov/AnimalVeterinary/NewsEvents/CVMUpdates/ucm620934.htm
  5. Can you have a specialist go through the records and write a report? I'm not sure if they do this (without seeing the patient) but it's worth asking. May help you in at least getting vet fee compensation.
  6. Sounds like she gobbled food but not enough water to go with it.
  7. If that doesn't work, I get wheat from the health food store and sprout it. It comes up fast and gets eaten while it's still soft.
  8. I picked up a ten week old from a direct flight of about 4 hours travel all up, I think the trip was pretty much forgotten with the excitement of all that attention on arrival. Think it also depends as I know some breeders won't send toy breeds before 12 weeks but that would be an answer for more experienced puppy people.
  9. Seconding the obedience class. He's going to be a gorgeous big teenager
  10. Do you mind me asking....What exactly is the problem with building an enclosure to keep your dog alive and visiting children safe?
  11. What do you mean polished turds on dog refuge pages?
  12. That's very sad But so lovely they had somewhere to go. It's hard to guess what animals are thinking but I'd worry they would get all excited. Instead of taking them home, could you bring a few things back to your home? Blankets (maybe some of Anne's), beds, bowls, leads, all their stuff if you haven't already? Now I'm going to sound like a space cadet but talk to them about Anne and her passing.
  13. Declaration or not, if you want to keep him alive get a large secure run anyway. Your dog has bitten a child, it is dangerous.
  14. Unless she's got council rangers or police willing to get involved on her behalf - which is rare because it is a civil matter, then ownership disputes can end up in local court or with lawyers and frankly I don't think the old owners will bother. Get a detailed stat dec from the original minder, you might need it. (templates are online)
  15. You might have to contact @JRT RESCUE for advice on rehoming one. I think that might work better for you all.
  16. No it was just an example. I'm not a member but there is over 3k people in that one so might be worth joining just for a look before you decide to post.
  17. There's facebook, if you find the right group you should be able to take your pick of people. https://www.facebook.com/groups/561479277343695/
  18. The day I was going turned into an adoption meet & greet. Sad I missed the show but it was worth it.
  19. Quite safe they were around the paddocks when I was a little kid.
  20. If you can't sort out a way to bring him into your room at night drag the blanket off your bed and put it in the kennel.
  21. I really just want to say wait a couple more days and see if she changes her mind again. Might be the wrong thing to say but that's how I feel, I'm obviously torn on the topic of giving dogs away to strangers for flaky reasons. Yes, you'll have to seriously consider giving up the dog as the right thing to do. You will find another with no strings attached this time. I'm not sure I'd want the drama. It's only because you are trying to be nice that she even has the option of getting the dog back and that is to your credit. Others would tell her to go jump. And if it had been surrendered to a pound she'd have very little chance or the dog may not even be alive anymore. Anyway, as above, wait until she has the new rental sorted. Demand for pet friendly is highly competitive and there is no guarantee she has the property until the lease is signed. Unfortunately this does drag it out for you.
