  1. Yes. And cut loose the vet too. Find your own family vet now. If you post your approximate location, people will be able to suggest great vets they take their dogs to. *edit snap Mrs RB* The store would have up-sold you the food they feed or you've jumped into a new diet. You very well may have fed far too much, or totally over done it with treats etc. Or it could be serious stuff happening, the pups are kept in inappropriate conditions and the hygiene is only as good as the person who cleans the boxes they live in, the bowls they use and the toys they have. Which doesn't matter anyway, because a pup with runny poo can become dehydrated in a few hours even without disease involved so any diarrhoea is urgent. You need a good vet. One of your own who you can go to for the rest of your pup's life.
  2. I don't have FB. It's handy that people post details here. btw KC Crocburgers :p LOL jks
  3. These things go so fast, literally in minutes. She probably won't be there or the owners tell you you're second in line, there's zero time to work with. I'm not, repeat not, not not , advising everyone to go grab all the gumtree dogs but with a little/toy desirable entire girl it's sometimes more effective to call immediately and get the owners to commit to giving you the dog: then chase up a decent rescue (if you can't find one at least you tried and the dog will go to the next in line). Don't always assume the owners have no idea how to rehome but they can be too trusting of strangers. Try to be polite and helpful with decent advice r.e making educated choices. Some will insist the dog won't go into rescue, they get abusive PM's from welfare nutters about FTGH, dog fight bait, puppy farms etc etc. I advertised a little old local lady's missing cat. OMG there's some keyboard animal welfare freaks out there. It's enough to put anybody off.
  4. Nice except for the stink. That's not really the way it's done.
  5. Quick, remove the ad link. Only send the details to reputable rescue otherwise you're pretty much just advertising. :)
  6. I believe you and your opinion is just as valid as everyone else's. I've seen it myself, with zero guesswork or assumptions or animal rights mythology. Skeletal, huge torn hernias, prolapse, mammary cancer, epilepsy, crippled, senior etc etc they still fall pregnant and as long as they produce live litters they will continue to be mated. Given the apparent small percentage of registered breeders I believe a large number of pups come from elsewhere and with two motivations. Ignorance and/or money.
  7. Sucked in 'Bonner Man', you vile oxygen thief.
  8. Specialist ASAP before the dog's organs shut down completely. I find it odd that two vets just shrugged their shoulders and let this dog's very serious condition deteriorate. Are you absolutely sure that's what happened? IF they haven't been referred to a specialist already, they need a new vet/s regardless. No amount of blood panels and standard tummy upset diet: (Science Diet and boiled chicken&rice) is going to help something this nasty. He should at least be in a clinic under observation & on a drip to keep him hydrated and alive. Immediately. edit: as far as I know, Immune Diseases similar to human Lupus is associated with certain breeds incl husky and mals.
  9. It depends on exactly what the kidney test results are but I've got two on 2/3rd barf, 1/3 sweet potato, omega 3 and Ipakitine which is a phosphate binder. Vet's All Natural (Dr Bruce) recommends a chinese herb which I should look into more thoroughly but the current diet for my two seems to have dramatically decreased their thirstiness. They are both a good weight and eat well and drink normally. Will chase up the herbs soon.
  10. Because you need to have back to back litters? Because you need to start breeding ASAP? Because a bitch can have unlimited litters until a vet finally ticks her off as no more? Mmmhmm. Thats not to do with what is best for the bitch thats to do with money no way you paint it. Unless you have a super rare dog with a limited gene pool and you need more individuals to keep the breed alive that excuse doesn't float with me. Because the science says breed them young and breed them often - no point in being educated on canine reproduction by animal rights and mythology. Doesn't float with me either. And 'animal rights' doesn't mean rescuers haven't seen bitches bred young & often almost to the point of collapse. It's not a mythology we make up.
  11. Great, I can see it now. More excuses for people to breed brachy crosses because 'they have less breathing problems'.
  12. I'm so sorry sweetheart She had a wonderful life and a wonderful mum. All my love. Rest in Peace Tess Forever remembered. xxx
  13. Suzeboot, one dog barked from it's front yard, startled the old lady and she fell in the gutter? Are WA dogs not allowed to bark when they are on their own property? I can imagine it would be different if they are on the street or rushed out of a pitiful boundary fence.. but their own front yard? Dogs do that all the time. Dogs would be being seized all over the place.
  14. The old gent has quite a bounce in his step! What a gorgeous boy. :)
  15. Off to the vet for a check....and a squeeze if necessary. :D Raw can dry out poos and doesn't so much cause issues as much as it can just aggravate dogs inclined to anal gland problems. I was recommended pumpkin (or metamucil, plain - tasteless - no sweeteners, for fussy dogs.
  16. That's a shame. I am not on FB, could people remember to let me know about silkies please? x
  17. I wholeheartedly support the behaviourist option because that's most probably exactly what you need. But just so you also have a bit extra to think on, a couple of dogs I've seen behave like that have actually had brain tumours. Change in personality, OCD, aggression and kind of 'black out' moments of unprovoked attack.
  18. Yep, there's a lot of those sites who make it so easy to look legit and run a campaign. There is no clear advice to donors that nobody is watching the money. The hosting site takes a % out of every withdrawal and have no responsibility when it turns out to be a scam. fyi Anyone giving online, make sure the site only takes registered charities. e.g GiveNow.com.au
  19. SweePee the crestie won that guy a prize and in the very least he should have it taken off him. Is it just DOL that sees the cruelty or are other people upset by this? All I can find on the internet is a bunch of articles congratulating the pr**ck. vet article re untreated conditions why are people getting awards for this? My link
  20. Surprise. $130,000 +++ later and the go-fund-me page is gone.
  21. Warning....Do NOT look at this year's winner
  22. poor little natives Yes I had to read the article twice too. What a tragedy.
