  1. Yikes....poor dog. From the look of that pic I would say the dogs dew claws have never been cut. I have seen it plenty of times, as well as rabbits with teeth so overgrown they have grown into the face just under the orbit.....Rabbit was brought in because "it was getting thin" Old arthritic cats that can't shed their cats & can barely...... walk
  2. I have camped there in my Gazebo at ring 12! It was set back from the ring! & I have a tent that zipped onto the back of the 3x3 gazebo. Was great except...... out of the whole of EP there was one other group camping in their gazebo....... & they were beside us!!! They drank & laughed until late......then the woman spent half the damn night sobbing & crying about shite!! and the partner telling her to be quiet There are showers in the toilet blocks & they are great. Egg & bacon sangers for breakky. There are also limited powered camp sights, others may be able to tell you about!
  3. Lol...I struggle to keep weight on my dogs!....In my 25 years of having std poodles I have never had one that is a guts for food. It's the opposite. They all love training with treats...but dog food is no big deal....lol
  4. I have just sent an email to your group....I am hoping its not to late to sign up and come along to listen?! :)
  5. A very tough decision ......but as a parent the only safe one to do. Things will be tough as bub will be toddling soon and attempting to walk and pull himself up on everything. This will be stressful for your dog as well. Most of us here have had to make that tough decision of when to say goodbye. You will do what is right for your family. Be kind to yourself.
  6. I rang hairhouse warehouse today....she had never heard of battery operated cordless All the online seem to be in UK
  7. Any idea where I can get one here is Oz?....I keep coming up with dead ends!
  8. I just want to straighten my std poo's ears at shows!!...lol
  9. I am on the hunt for so e cordless hair straighteners!!!...lol... Didn't want to tell the women in the shop it was for my Std Poodle!...lol Sway...any ideas?
  10. Thanks Steve!!....I'm always worrying about something!
  11. Not worth worrying about - male sperm can remain viable inside the bitch for up to 8 days so with this in mind theoretically its possible for sperm from just one mating to fertilise the eggs on any of the fertile days anyway - assuming you are mating at the right time the potential to have puppies a bit under cooked is the same as if it were just one mating and the bitch only ovulates once so there is only a couple of days anyway when she is likely to fall pregnant . So in any litter you may see one which could have done with a day or two more. All part of the reason why bitches have such a high chance of falling pregnant - because the male sperm hangs around waiting for the right time if the mating is done before she is fertile. It also true that matings done at the end of a bitches cycle will be far less chance of success of a pregnancy for the above reasons.
  12. You need to find a vet or vet nurse that can do vaginal cytology......its sooooo easy! The only thing I was worried about having matings over 7 days was am I liking to have a mixed litter of sizes...ie are some going to be "undercooked"?
  13. I have a boy here & if I let him he would mate all day every day  ....he's a pain!!! I allowed him a mating every day as I also own the bitch, he did that for 7 days..... After the first couple of days I separated the bitch as she had had enough & he was exhausted! When I am taking a bitch to another male, I use vaginal cytology & prog testing. I then usually try & get mating over 2 days with a day off in between.
  14. Thats exactly what I advise people to do kelpiecuddles in my class!
  15. Big poodley hugs to Toby from my lot Kirty...xx Most humans are soooo "doggy illiterate " unfortunately when I am out I assume all dogs are aggressive to other dogs......maybe I have worked with too many dogs with beh probs!...... Hope Toby and you both bounce back soon. Std poodles are pretty tough!!
  16. I am pretty tough on mine. The wheels have been over different terrain.! Mine is a whopper...100 x 71 x 93(h)
  17. Hi whippytails!..My new trolley (bought last year) is one from Habanero Hounds is awesome, I love it. Very lightweight & so reasonable in price. My size fits 2 std poodles easily.......thats the one I should have measured before I bought it  I just couldn't resist it was such a bargain! Its in our lounge room all the time!....its my boys crate & on top of it lives a soft igloo bed that the cats snuggle in!!
  18. Obviously I love love love poodles. I never ever think about shedding!!! Is great....I have house cats that drop more coat than my 5 stds!! The stds are all in the house and outside...they bring the dirt in, which is more I'd a prob for me. My show dogs get brushed and bathed weekly, but my others are all clipped down short. I honestly don't groom them each week....but rather a day every 4-6weeks the 3 get groomed washed and trimmed. They are very wash and wear dogs!!! Love it.
  19. I am sitting at mt panorama at Bathurst rydges! Have come away for a 3 day dog show and it's awesome! When we checked in there was a large trampoline dog bed with a big comfy bed on top as well as 2 bowls of dog food. Am enjoying a glass of champers in the courtyard with my boy and chatting to the people on the next room with a JRT If you love the cars....it is a top spot. Big thumbs up!
  20. No probs whippytails....will measure in the morning. Am pretty sure the 2.4m gazebo fits as I had one before my 2 human boys trashed it on a weekend away! They didn't use the guy ropes, only the pegs & the gazebo was buckled over in the wind.. .....So I went the cheaper option at Bunnings 3x3m only to realise it doesn't collapse down as much as Oz trail ones ......now its a wrestling match! We were told we got the cheapest adventurer in Oz.....its great, but much "heavier" driving than my Santa Fe... plus I love having another manual!
  21. I have a Hyundai Santa Fe which I love, I choose that for showing & camping after my Ford Wagon was put to pasture! Its great.....but I also upgraded my show trolley.....which I should have measured BEFORE I spent the money.....about 6cms too wide for the back & the dogs sit on the back seats!!!!....so I wrestle it in behind the front seats. :D So our second car become a Holden adventurer which is awesome for all the show crap & more than 2 dogs & 2 kids!!! But doubt you could get for less than 8K
  22. I don't have any experience using the kennels. But I know the people that own it. They show TT's and afghans.
  23. I don't show bitches in season....but then a std poodle bitch in continental clip and in season is not a good look!!!
