My fav house website had this article today on inbuilt crates, or hiding crates. Some very snazzy ideas. If I was building I would do a bench in the laundry with the crates underneath. http://www.houzz.com/ideabooks/23553996?utm_source=Houzz&utm_campaign=u447&utm_medium=email&utm_content=gallery11

They have sodium in them and protein so don't think so.

There is Wellness too, sold at Petbarn so pretty easy to get. I'm feeding one of theirs at the moment because I got a free bag. They have a grain free range. Can't really help with taste though as none of my dogs thought much of Canidae and have all liked Holistic Select. I've used Earthborn and have neutral feelings about it, nothing bad happened but nothing wow either :)

I had 4 at one stage plus 3 cats and 2 ponies. That did seem rather chaotic but it was fun. Prior to that I always had 2. Now I could almost drop to one as it is easier to take them around and go on hols. But I also work from home. If I was going into an office I would always have 2. 3 was good because you could take one out and leave 2 at home. But then I never had issues taking out just one when I had my original 2, it is just that the current 2 were part of the bigger pack so hadn't been left alone. Finances do have to play a part too. Amber is pretty expensive to look after with all her meds and special food.

Playful Dog Mouthes (bites) Neighbour Pruning Over Fence.
JulesP replied to Pailin's topic in General Dog Discussion
Glad you wrote that dancinbcs. Unless the neighbor had asked if they could lean over the fence I would be super grumpy about them doing that. And if they had asked I would have removed the dogs first. I just wouldn't be putting my limbs into someone else's garden if they had a dog. I wouldn't walk into a garden or stick my fingers through the fence. Has common sense totally deserted everyone? -
My first dog that I purchased myself was my border collie, Moss. He was a great dog, super friendly. He loved gardening and actually ate a apple tree one day! I came home to a stump in the ground. He also liked to sit up on his hind legs for a belly rub and I remember the day that I tied him up outside a polling booth and he pretty much got every single person in the line up to rub his belly! This is Moss at 15yo not long before he left me.

Amber can't have bones or a GA. So that is a bit of a problem. If you have any ideas Bruce I would love to hear them. Amber has inoperable multi liver shunts and has had HE episodes after eating bones.

Are the people getting mixed up with the rules for restricted and dangerous dogs?

Pitbull Terrier Attack At Ruffey Lake, Doncaster, Vic
JulesP replied to toy_poodle_crazy's topic in General Dog Discussion
Sure they weren't staffies? I asked a friend that goes there a bit and they said there is a guy with 2 staffies that is a bit clueless. -
Hope Fur Panto is feeling better today.

If I am having a day out with the dogs then I would take them to a cafe. I wouldn't particularly go out with them to go just to a cafe. Haven't had any problems. Lots of oohs and arrss normally. I wouldn't be offended by a place that said no dogs. I just suss out the place were they are welcome. A good sign is a doggy water bowl. Have even gone out with the horses for lunch before! There is a place near here that has yards for the horses and dogs are welcome too. Railway Cafe in Seville on the Warby trail for anyone interested.

I actually found the oodles ok as a dog groomer and trainer. Grooming they were all fine. Training was a bit of a mixed bunch as they are pretty smart so it depended on the owner. The little white fluffies on the other hand were not pleasant to deal with.

When you ask this question then the time is often near. It might not be right now but it will be soon. Hugs Kavik. You will know the right time. I've always stressed that I wouldn't know and googled like crazy about right times to PTS a pet but in the end I did know the day that I had to do it.

So sorry Sammyelle.

So sorry. RIP Kibah.

The dog already been reported for killing a cat so you can probably add in mismanagement. It had also been jumping the neighbors fence and scaring their kids. I wonder if the dog normally goes upstairs or if it snuck up there because the baby was up there. My dog never goes down my hallway but did twice last week, I think there was a critter under the floor from her reactions. It was quite out of character for her. They normally come in and don't move from their beds.
-
The dog was owned by the Mother's boyfriend. Reports say that hadn't been going out for long so maybe the dog hadn't met the baby much.

Very cool

I think in this situation I would explore further. My first border collie did have a sudden onset spine issue. He basically couldn't walk overnight with no indication prior that anything was wrong. But he had also stopped eating that week and was nearly 16yo. I didn't do any tests as I knew it was his time to go.

They would have to pay me to take on a puppy like that.
-
It was interesting to hear why he named them instead of just calling them cross poodles/labs. I feel sorry for the guy, he seems quite haunted by the whole thing.
-
I think it was wrong that they killed him in the first place. What they did after doesn't bother me so much. The zoo have said that they have dissected a number of animals in public. Breeding an animal that you don't need and then killing it is just dodgy breeding.
-
One of the zoos (Yorkshire) offering a home already had one of their giraffes.

Crates are great if you stay some where overnight. They make the dogs feel heaps more settled. Like a security blankie I guess. Mine in their magic crates.

The doggie beaches I've been to have been bay beaches and have been pretty shallow so little dogs are fine. I don't see that many medium/big dogs just swimming around anyway. There is mainly lots of splashing action! Mine just stand in the sea or Poppy will have a bit of a lay down. Both my borders are pretty little btw. Rye beach Blairgowrie Just standing around!
