  1. How wonderful that Neko has come into Feather's life in a happy way!!!
  2. Take your vets advice pup could definitely still get Parvo - many return a negative result in the early stages
  3. Thanks Stitch - I am currently looking for a protein source for elimination diet for my mini poo who has become itchy at 5yrs
  4. My 30kg standard poodle had a molar out 6mths ago and and it was over $600 - he had pre op bloods and a light clean (he has good teeth)
  5. Just wanted to with you and your girl all the best, Dave
  6. I had a mixed breed foster who got this after lying on freshly mown grass. Washing the are several times a day with malesab and not letting him on the grass cleared it quickly. My 5 yr old mini poodle recently developed this (pretty sure it is contact allergy - probably pollen from pine trees as the rash is decreasing and pollen has too) I am using calendula tea to reduce irritation with some success. When it first started it was her feet, tummy and underarms and now it is just her underarms. Washing affected areas definitely Helped - and keeping her inside.
  7. My advice would be to find a groomer who is experienced with difficult dogs - visit regularly (weekly) for a wash and brush and a slow decensitisation / behaviour modification process where the dog learns that he has nothing to fear - a course of something like Clomicalm during this period may be helpful. The groomer should show the owner things that they can do at home with Hershey to help the process. I think this needs a wholistic approach groomer/behaviourist/vet/ owner
  8. Maybe it is a breed thing - our standard poodles and mini never minded at all - actually used to step in and out of the nickers just like little kids when you are dressing them    It meant that they were able to carry on as normal in the house getting on the couches, bed etc so I found it very useful. Much easier than wiping down the walls because a standard poodle in season had a good old shake
  9. men's undies will probably be to big - get a pair of child undies and cut a hole a hole for her tail - use a panty liner and don't forget to take them off when she needs to toilet.
  10. You are simply going to state what your experience has been - no more - no less. There are many sides to every story and those sides need to be told.
  11. I don't want to meet off leash dog when I am out walking - I don't go to off leash parks because I don't want to meet unknown off leash dogs. Doesn't seem hard to understand does it To those who want to demonstrate their unbelievable bond with their dog by walking around off leash - buy some fenced acreage so you are not annoying or at the worst terrifying others.
  12. So many people own dogs and don't have any fencing - is there a requirement to have fencing if you own a dog??? Sorry, if it was my dog the trip to the vet would have been pts I would not own a dog that had aggressively attacked
  13. Unless you have been getting your pup used to being alone they are going to be very distressed at being alone for such a long period - particularly a to breed
  14. I wouldn't leave such a young toy poodle outside - get someone to babysit
  15. A police officer (or anyone else) should be able to reach your front door without running the gauntlet of a dog that may or may not be friendly. Well, S, you can choose not to answer the door if it is someone you don't wish to interact with but access to your property is part of living in a community and is often for your own benefit
  16. The number of dog owners who have a fenced property but don't close the gate or who have dogs and no fencing and still let the dog out really grinds my bones. Idiot around the corner had a doberman without a fence  thankfully they have sold up and moved Hope the lady recovers - incidents like this can really cause ongoing problems of confidence and health for the older members of our community.
