Thanks for that link Rosetta.. A while back Miah had some ongoing sneezes, it was intially thought she might have a grass seed up her nostril. Shes fine now but i did wonder about if it was an allergy/hayfever issue and was thinking about giving her one of my clarytine (sp?) antihistamines and what dose would i need to give her?

lots of people know all the ins and outs of around our areas, so someones got to know something !!!

Shes gorgeous by the way! we have tiles throughout our house and if they get too hot they go lay on them,, we also have a clam shell pool for them to cool down if want too..

I don't believe it needs to be done, its designed for their insulation. We just trim up ours up around their foot pads and ears if need be.. My husband was reading a good write up about this very subject earlier this morning, i'll ask for the link later. Its often discussed over and over in my Cavalier fb group.. the pros and cons.. heaps do clip their Cavs right back

It is beautiful ! I did a similar one years ago but with some sheep in a paddock . This one is nicer :)

We dont have a bath, so they get washed in the shower. Our laundry basin is now cats feed station (had a top over it) so cant use that area anymore. On hot days they might get a wash in their clam shell pool , if needed :)

I met 2 lovely greyhounds at dog training last week , one is not long off the track. The school we go to is a very small one and in a well contained properly fenced of area. Both greyhounds were on leash but didn't have muzzles on and were very well behaved ! I've also seen another one being responsibly walked around where i live and its never muzzled either.(Well the times ive seen it anyway)

I gave some to my young Cav this morning at dog training, hope they don't do that to her yikes ! (hers was a gift also).. i'll keep a watch for any reactions later! not sure what is going on in your situation tho with your 2 girls

That one does look good, I think ill be trying that next. I used Aloveen on my last lab and it was amazing for her she had no skin issues though apart from the odd dry skin. My current lab with her sensitive skin, yes Aloveen does make her itchy. Im currently using Fido's Herbal. that ivorycoat shampoo has tea tree oil in it, ive heard some dogs can react to tea tree oil as well

Interesting, i mostly use Aloveen shampoo, even the leave in conditioner for special occasions, and Cavs can be itchy type dogs.. but i cant say we have had any issues that i have noticed using it. Usually the Cavs have been itchy prior to washing them but haven't gotten any worse after.

Its felt like a week long party so far lol altho Miahs on a bit of a downer today as shes missing all the friends shes had to play with on the day. She keeps wanting to go outside and find where they all are She even was very smitten with a friend's young Ruby Cavalier puppy . I said I might have to organize an Engagement party for them next ! Thank you luvmybulldog ( for what you guys did too!!) The leash holders are so cool aren't they! I love them too :)

Beautiful pics dotdashdot !! I thought since i started this thread last Feb , its only fitting i do my official last puppy post in here now Miah has tuned one! We put on a huge 1st party for her and given this year has been a very hard one for us, we needed something happy to refocus on and have some fun at . It was a very special day ;) She had 2 parties actually lol a small one on her actual birthday (27th Nov) and the big one on the Saturday (30th Nov) Theres a post in General for anyone that is interested. Enjoy your every moment with your puppies (all the good times and even all the naughty times lol) , as they grow up way too fast ! ;) Im so happy I finally had the experience and pleasure of having owned a puppy, even if it took 47 years to do so !

LOL thats ok Baronia, Daisy was a huge hit among many of Miah's human birthday guests. Shes a lovely girl and mixed very well with everyone at the party. Might have left with a bit of an identity crisis at the end of the day tho There was food for the human guests too lol I did party pies, party sausage rolls, spinach and ricotta triangles, puff dogs (mini hot dogs) bonewhiches and an assortment of sweet nibbles and potato chips :)

I have permission from people in Miah's birthday party photos to put up link in here from my fb. A very special thank you to 2 Dolers who worked behind the scenes to help me with this party (even tho both are from interstate). K9Angel (Rach) with making us lots of yummy looking doggy treats (which were a huge hit! ) and birthday cake decorations. Altho she was going through a very heartbreaking time with just losing her Zeuss, she still put all her effort and heart into making me all the bits and pieces Also a huge thank you to Luvmybulldog, her and her coworkers at the sign writing company she works for made us a huge happy 1st birthday Miah sign for the party. It was admired by all Miah's human guests ! Its something we will treasure forever ! Its amazing how generous, thoughtful and kind some people are, even when they are going through some personal stuff themselves :) Ps and I also want to thank my wonderful husband and my beautiful elderly Mum who helped me heaps with the party before, during and cleaning up after. I would have never been able to do it on my own without their help. *Out of respect for Everyone's privacy, please no downloading or sharing any of the photos in Miah's birthday albums. Thank you x

I'm sure Joey was with us all in spirit. It was lovely his breeder could come and spend some time saying goodbye to him at his burial site at our place. I also shared an emotional moment with his breeder. Well done Andy, Mac and Sarah for helping the rescue Cav adjust to his new family. Its lucky rescue dogs have such wonderful people looking out for them. x Ps Thank you for Miah's birthday wishes, its felt like a week long birthday party for her lol

Miah's party was a raging success ! Perfect weather altho Miah's breeder couldn't make it because it was a high fire risk day where she lives (She had prewarned me anyway) But Renae's breeder came which was really lovely. We had about 12 Cavaliers in all their colours they come in and one smaller Terrier who fitted in just beautifully with all the Cavaliers. They were all very well behaved ! I will put up some pics later once we edit them. I have quite a few people behind the scenes ( that didn't come) to thank for doing so many things for us for the party to make it a successful one for my Husband and I and Miah .. Anyway it all came together just as I had planned, altho i forgot to do a few things because it all got very busy with mingling with her guests. Everyone said they had the best time and that i had done a great job with organizing it . I will put up some photos later once we edit them. I'll just put up a random one i snapped of her while waiting for all her guests to turn up :) I think she was a bit over us holding her down to put some purple hair chalk in her ears.. Ill post pic of her in a happier party mode when i get around to it :)

Yes its a pity you can't both make it Marg Hopefully its not too hot, or too wet, or windy. Here in Goolwa anything is possible tho ..
