Of All The Cheaper Dry Dogfoods Which Is The Best?
KitKat replied to Stitch's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
It's in a variety of places in QLD - If you are Brissie Southside it's at Rochedale Produce near Ikea -
Must admit...i've never worried about the whole 'don't compost after worming' and the worms haven't seemed to have any issues!
-
Hehe...the set up isn't much to take a pic of - it's just a cheapo conical type compost bin...and the stirrer one of these...and one of these
-
I have a compost bin that is just for dog poo...works fine, occasionally it will get that icky sweaty smell but i just pour some water in there and mix it about and the smell goes away again There are worms in there as well. Next time compost bin i get will be one of those ones which you can open the bottom of them so you can shovel out the good dirt My current set up works perfectly fine with two large dogs

White Shepherd Royal Canin Gsd V Vets All Natural Complete Mix
KitKat replied to heroeswit's topic in Puppy Chat
The RC GSD mix contains no wheat etc to suit what can be a sensitive GSD system - it is a complete food in itself. When i've used it i have also used barf and RMBs with it, or at different meal times. If i was using VAN and RC i'd probably use it at different meal times rather then together. -
Who Takes Their Dog To Work With Them?
KitKat replied to cannibalgoldfish's topic in General Dog Discussion
My boys can't come in to work and if i can get back out to where i was i can at least smooch the work dogs and take them for walks in my lucnh break :D -
If you feel like coming over to the dark side..eeerrr...south side there is going to be a lil DOL meet on Saturday 5th - the thread is in the social forum :D

My two GSD's are half brothers...and couldn't be more different The first one is almost perfect in health, temp, behaviour - the second is a shocker and with Bronx being so good it just makes more Sabre seem even worse!

How Would A Cavalier And German Shepherd Go Together?
KitKat replied to Sunnyflower's topic in General Dog Discussion
I thought we were also talking a puppy and small dogs - and we are also suggesting a well bred pup, or an adult of which the temp can be understood before purchase. My bigger GSD was not brought up around small dogs or kids - yet he is careful with both. Perhaps he is one of those 'soft incorrect GSD types'? Actually perhaps his type would be better suited to the OP then your idea of a 'real' GSD? ETA - a well bred pup would of course be from a good breeder who will know the the type of home the pup is going to and suggest the best pup from their litters for them, or even suggest a pup from another breeder. To the OP - Check out the MDBA (now linked ) They are likely a good start as well -

Great Pics!!! Mind you that is probably one of the biggest risks...GSD's do tend to play with their feet by trying to bop their playmates on the head -
How Would A Cavalier And German Shepherd Go Together?
KitKat replied to Sunnyflower's topic in General Dog Discussion
Geez Black Bronson - way to give GSD's a good rap!!! NOT! I'm currently seeing working lines GSD's every day if i can manage it - and each and every one of them has been a gentle smoocher with me, but put them to work and they'll rip you a new one. A true GSD is an alrounder - My GSD at the the million paws walk yesterday was a true gentleman with dogs big, small and tiny yesterday - yet come into my yard uninvited and he along with my other one will tear you a new one. He's not 'true' working lines tho his parents were working security dogs - fully papered tho. Sunny - a well bred GSD (eg temp, type, health) will fit in well, however they won't be running for a good while due to age. It may be worth looking into a young adult GSD either from a rescue or from a breeder/showie who has run on a dog but has decided to rehome the dog. Here is a great place to ask your questions but remember people have their own opinions So take from it what you will and i wish you the best in picking your GSD - they are seriously wonderful dogs -
Best Way To Get Rid Dog Fur Out Of Your Washing Machine.
KitKat replied to luffy4688's topic in General Dog Discussion
Stop washing the dog in it? I have no idea...when i do the dogs stuff i generally do it by hand, or be naughty and do an empty cycle on the washing machine. (the grey water goes out onto the garden at least!) -
Women Injured And Animals Killed In Overnight Fires (caboolture Qld)
KitKat replied to Boronia's topic in In The News
Oh damn I'd been hoping that Magnus had made it somehow. Sleep well with those of your pack that now wait at the bridge watching over Jed and those of the pack that are still this side of the bridge. Rest and heal Jed. -
They sure the pup isn't allergic to the flea product? I've known cats and dogs to have some varying reactions to the products - one cat i know cries and does her damndest to rub the product off within minutes, getting more upset and violent as she went (owner realised what the problem might have been , shoved cat into shower to get as much product off as possible and off to vets they went).

Women Injured And Animals Killed In Overnight Fires (caboolture Qld)
KitKat replied to Boronia's topic in In The News
If a group is going up one weekend to do a clean/clear up of the property i might be able to help, even if just for one day over a weekend. Does the family think Jed will want to return to the property? -
