    So Pleased

That's great, I definatley think the best way to introduce e dogs is to walk with them initially, I have two friends with DA dogs who have become friends with my 4 through a lot of time and walks now they all socialize together. I have also done some work with some other DA dogs with my lot and we always begin walking.
  3. Hi guys, just wondering if anyone who frequents this thread knows what happened to the OP jess live die? She has not been active since June just after she got her pup.
  4. We have visited nursing homes with all of my lot (one at a time) where we have been allowed and the residents just get so much joy from just seeing a dog. we have visited my OH mum when she has been in respite and the nurses have asked me If I would go and visit some other patients and they were so wrapped, it was great to be able to bring a smile to thier faces. Thier eyes nearly popped out of my head when I told them I had 4
  5. I just spoke to one of the co ordinators a couple of days ago and we are all set to get the girls tested on the 18th August. I am looking forward to it but still apprehensive about my white girl Tully and it is annoying because she will be the best of the two of them to visit with as she is very calm with people and she will sit and offer a paw and be happy to be patted and loves her tummy being rubbed, Lacy is all that too but Lacy is a licker and a bit excitable but she loves people so she should be fine. The thing with Tully is I'm not sure how she will go with the test as she is not keen on dogs she doesn't know (she got attacked when she was younger) and even though I have worked with her a lot she is still reactive to some situations, so she may carry on a treat when we get to the reaction to another dog bit. She is by no means dog aggressive but will bark and try to chase the other dog away however she is better on lead. She is fine with dogs she knows and gets used to dogs she is around a lot but I'm not sure if the testing day will be over whealming for her. Geez I sound like a nervous Nelly Im sure it will be all good and so many people have said I won't have anything to worry about. We will wait and see. I'll be back with an update once we test.
  6. If the dog was a permanent resident then they would just get used to each other and it probly wouldn't be a bother. Are you friends with the neighbour? Is it possible for the dogs to have a couple of play dates to get to know each other, this may aleviate the problem. Or just keep Akira away from that part of the yard when you know the dog is there.
  7. It must be the time for a swim, I took my boys to the beach today, our weather is the best it has been for a long while. Great shots!
  8. Even after having 4 pups in under 2years, I would have another on in a heart beat! I loved every bit of the puppy stage, but I found with each consecutive dog the chewing is less as they have each other to play with. I never had that many sleepless nights mine were all good sleepers from an early age. I only had one that was difficult to toilet train, the rest were a breeze! I don't get clucky over babies but puppies well that is entirely different!!
  9. Yes clean and dry and brushed. I clip every 6 - 8 weeks so thier coats are never long or knotty. We have an active lifestyle so shorter suits us better. Even my sharpening guy said it is strange. Also doesn't add up why the 10 blade stays sharper for sooooo much longer?
  10. Don't feel bad accidents happen. Is it only singed, to me singed is not bad, had you have said burnt then that'd be bad! Is it just the top layer of fur? I wouldnt worry to much, just leave it for tonight and brush it out tommorow.
  11. look at Jedis face he has exactly the same expression. If his coat wasn't fluffier it could have been a cloned in picture So cute the three of them. Will fable darken up as she gets older or is that the color she will stay?
  12. Do you have any friends who have vaccinated dogs that you could socialize your pup with. The earlier the better with the breed you have. Have you visited the Stafford thread they are a friendly bunch and I'm sure will give you tons of sound advice on the best way to go about it. http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?showtopic=50264
  13. All 4 of mine from the moment they came to live with me went with me everywhere possible. The only places we steered clear of before they were 16 weeks old was highly populated dog areas and the beach (parvo can live in sand for a long time) Mine only had off lead excersise as pups and short training sessions with the lead on. All attended puppy school from 8 weeks onwards. I spoke to my local vet at the time of each being a pup to find out if there had been any parvo cases in the district and there had been none. Since then we have had a few cases of parvo so I might be more wary if I was to get another puppy. The socialization over vaccination is an ongoing debate but I think sensibly tackled you can have a happy medium.
  14. I can't believe how much Fable has grown!! It is quite amazing. Beautiful photos, you have very photogenic subjects to work with!!
  15. My three youngest dogs will all eat thier bones together, but they know each others boundries and would not try to take each others. However Bronson waits till the girls have had enough then he goes and gathers the remainder of thier bones and surrounds himself with them Cooper will take himself away from the three younger ones and go and eat his on his own.
  16. The last blade I bought was a 5 blade for my Wahl and it was blunt on first use, I took it to be sharpened and only get one clip out of it and it is blunt again, I am over getting it sharpened all the time so I have gone back to my 10 blade with the SS attcahments, I get about 6 clips out of it before it needs sharpening. Which is realy annoying as the 5 blade gives a nice clip where as the 10 with attachments gives a choppy clip not as smooth as the blade alone.
  17. We took our lot to Dinner plain last year (near Mt Hotham) they had a ball, we went in september the last day of the snow season but there was still plenty of snow as we had a cold snap at the time. Not sure how you would go taking them there in peak season as there is usually lots of people. Funny you posted this as I was just watching video of my lot in the snow last night. They just loved it so much which suprised me as I thought they would hate it!!
  18. Hi Tanya, the weathers pretty ordinary, can't decide if the sun wants to be out or if it wants to rain?? Think I might give it a miss.
  19. Went to check out Aldi and the guys said next week, so I am assuming Aldis specials go from week to week, must look to see when thier week starts as i do NOT want to have to go to that place unnessisarily, I can't stand shopping there it drives me insane. But anyway I had a look at the catalouge and the covers look great, and I would think no something they would sell a lot of quickly. Can't believe I get home yesterday and the weather is nearly as bad as when I left, anyone up for a walk sometime tomorow? Maybe Albert park or TP, mine are all overdue for a bath so I don't care where we go.
  20. Heres mine for last week and this week, more snaps from my iphone, never seem to get time to pick up my camera these days. 32/52 Road trip, Cooper in the big smoke 33/52 Road trip 2, heading home and a couple of extras just cause I thought they were cute.
  21. :eek *note to self....go buy tatts ticket........
  22. Oh they are soooooo cute!! I must say though, I am more partial to the lighter colored lappies, not sure why they are all so cute. The mumma dog looks like such a sweetie. I love the dinner time shots! Nik you don't have something to tell us do you? number 4?? Im sure Fable would love a sibling around her own age to play with
