  1. Adorbale, I'd have such a hard time giving him back
  2. Whoever started this thread should add these to the first post, so people don't have to scan the whole thread :) SA has kindly scheduled their ET for the one weekend in June that I have not got racing on the calendar  So how do you enter?
  3. I don't think I could possibly run out. Esky's on about 50/ 50 raw and kibble, since we won heaps of kibble and I can't stand waste. Worst case if I was out of dog meat, she'd get something destined for my plate, a frozen chicken or some beef fillet. Or possibly a scoop of dry cat food. Failing that an egg or fasting
  4. Another (slightly cheaper) option if you find lines you like overseas, is to find a stud to match your girl and import semen.
  5. Ever so Secret ;) should have read the whole thread someone else already suggested it.
  6. So far half a handful of kibble mixed with about 1/4 of the canned cat food corpsie won't eat. Mixed with water. She'll get some more food later
  7. As soon as I saw the title I knew it was going to be 'Bella' Surprised 'Mia' and ' Ruby' weren't on the list
  8. Here's a website that might be of interest. http://dogsfirst.ie/make-your-own-dog-food/ Nowhere near as full on as some of the calculators I've used before
  9. Not just a pug thing, I get it heaps with my sibes. Usually the wallet opens and out come all the photos too! yes this used to happen sooo much to me!
  10. I kind o like being able to access a puppy enquiry form as much for curiosity as anything else
  11. I like ummmm, all of them. Sibes come in such a rainbow all of them look so different. Heaps of people ask me about Esky's colouring, they all seem to think that red is really uncommon. I'm terrible though I can never pick favourites
  12. I have a hotmail account and never had a problem with it
  13. Hopefully 2013 will be our year. Depends on how the tests line up with our sled racing :)
  14. 09 was the year of rudd bucks which funded the purchase of my first (byb) bitch. It was also the year Esky was whelped. Not sure if that would have motivated anyone else to breed though
  15. Ingredients Kangaroo meat and lamb meat, ground brown rice, vegetables including peas, alfalfa, natural fats and oils, omega 3, 6 & 9, yeast, garlic, kelp, vitamins A, C, D3, E, K, B1, B2, B6, B12, niacin, pantothenic acid, folacin, biotin and natural organic acids, plus minerals, calcium, phosphorus, sodium, copper, zinc, iron, manganese and iodine. Also contains Yucca shidigera extract and natural flavours, and is preserved using natural vitamin E and rosemary oil. Please note this food does not contain any sugar (as sucrose) and is free of dairy products. Dry Matter Basis Crude Protein (min) 20% Crude Fat (min) 11% Ash (Typical) 5% Crude Fibre (max) 6% Moisture 10% Phosphorus (min) 1.0% Calcium (min) 2.0% I wondered if there was any kangaroo based food in aus. For my dog I would not feed this as the fat content isn't high enough for her needs
  16. Yes managing is a big part of it. At our racing most have some kind of tie out stake for the dogs during the day and the dogs sleep inside trailers or crates at nights. If my dog's ever running free it would be thanks to equiptment malfunction on the trail
  17. Thanks tumbleweed. I was thinking of including the bike springer/walky dog running as cardio. I like the beach idea, got plenty of that around. Not free running though. Sometimes we go to a really dead dog park and let her run there. She doesn't seem as keen on free excercising when it's just her, so I normally have to encourage her. Thanks Jumabar, have to try and find a hill.. Would a treadmill be a substitute?
  18. A few people from sledding have vans to sleep in. One has a really cool set up. He has several crates in there. Two fit under the bed and one fits in the other space.
  19. Somehow this thread ended up all about me. Yes, Esky rides in the tray in her crate. I don't have a canopy for a couple of reasons a) I think one would be worth more than the car 2) I can fit 1 crate and 1 racing scooter in the back of the ute and the canopy would make that hard Down the track I'd like to have a custom dog box made up. When she rides inside the car she spends most of the time smooshed up against the window sniffing and trying to get air. The husky grins and the fact that she moves around get the most breeze on her while she's in the back, that tells me she's not cold. I doubt there would be this much fuss going on if I had a single cab ;)
  20. My girl Esky competes in two sports dryland racing 'sledding' and weight pull. I really want to go into our next season with a more structured approach to training. I'm trying to work out how do this. I really want to avoid over working her When my own excercise regime I do my heaviest weights Monday, 90% of that weight on a Wednesday and 80% on a Friday. On alternate days I do cardio stuff, with 1-2 rest days per week depending on how bad I feel. I assume the same applies to dogs. So how would I go about structuring an excercise plan. Monday: Dryland training run Tuesday: Rest- light walk Wednesday: Weights Training: Thursday: Rest Light walk Friday:Dryland training run Saturday:Light weight training Sunday: Total rest Too much? What about on race weeks. Saturday and sunday are both taken up with racing so I'd maybe run tues and thurs instead? Sorry for going on, I'd just like to be able to measure our progress next year and am trying to work out how to do it. Hopefully someone can help me out
  21. I have a dual cab ute, but I also lack air conditioning. I prefer having my girl ride out back so she has some breeze. Plus on the way back from an event, like a sled race it's much easier to hose the tray and crate off than it is to remove the stink and mud from my seats.
