That lady would have had him since she was 16! What an amazing age R.I.P

Just for fun :D What is the most popular colour in your breed? Are there any markings or other cosmetic looks that are particularly sought after. I'm not 100%- but in my breed I think the most saught after would be a black and white husky with blue eyes. Not my preference now, but when I first started looking at huskies I was really keen on that combination.

Yeah still worth a look again for those who haven't seen it. I wish I could make certain members of my extended family sit down and watch this

I totally feel your pain. I have a large husky and a large racing scooter and a tiny suzuki swift. So impractical! and not very efficient either :/ It uses more fuel than my OH's commodore wagon My dream car is a ute -specifically a hilux I'd have a dog box on the back and plenty of room for racing gear. And it would be so easy to clean post race. *sigh* :D

There was a lot that I didn't like from those books, particularly some of the parts surrounding house training. It read to me like ' if your dog even has an accident inside you are possibly the worst person on earth' She met a lot of people from the local pet supply stores and our puppy classes. Not sure if it was 100 but certainly better than zero.

What Would You Expect/do In This Situation
Esky the husky replied to Topoftheheap's topic in General Dog Discussion
As a purchaser I would probably avoid getting another pup from this breeder. I would do as you did as well and not breed from said pup. I probably wouldn't expect any more from breeders- if I was satisfied with the testing that was done then I probably just got unlucky with the pup I got. Sounds like a tough situation though, I'm sorry to read about your predicament -

I agree with this. She really misses having a house that she could do big zoomie laps all the way around. Now she does random tight direction changes. I love seeing her dog park zoomies though, so much speed and so much fur -

Behaviours That Could Lead To Dominance
Esky the husky replied to lovemyrottie's topic in General Dog Discussion
To me, this type of personality in a dog is a special trait I prize it above all others because with this type of dog you can do anything, they are the perfect total package. From an evolutionary perspective, they are remarkable and essential to the history of the dog. imo it is a reflection on the modern human, that this type of dog is widely misunderstood and misattributed, and in some circles, even debunked. Is this one of the desired traits in your breeds Lilli? Just curious your breeds fascinate me -
Come have a chat in the spitz breed thread if you have any questions about lappies, samoyeds, keeshonden or any of the other spitz breeds. http://www.dolforums.com.au/topic/137956-spitz-breeds/page__st__57540 An aussie shepherd might suit you as well, they come in 4 different colours but with lots of striking patterns. I have really loved all the aussies i've had the chance to meet :D

Might not be big enough for you, but the Finnish Lapphund is a gorgeous breed in both looks and temperament. The right one could be a good match for your family
