Kokoda is my naughty child. Also my smartest. So i do wonder if thats related at all. He is just so clever! He loves to dig. He never dug inside the yard at our previous house, i would take him to the park and let him do it there. But he has decided that the new houses yard IS a park and therefore he can dig. Thankfully just a few holes at the base of trees, not the middle of the lawn. But i did abuse his skill the otehr day while gardening and had him dig a few holes for me. Made it much quicker! He even pulled up the weedmat with his teeth for me He loves fishing in my pond. I found this out when i came home from work to find him swimming around in it.. (its just an old bathtub in the ground- so only small) SO i covered it with some wire. The next day he had moved the wire and pulled all the leaves of my water lillie so he could more clearly see the fish when he shoved his head under the wire to bark at them.. And he is a thief. of cat biscuits. But he knows he is more likely to be caught if eating in the bathroom for a long period. So he casually walks in, grabs a mouthfull of biscuits, sprints out to his bed. Spits them out again then slowly enjoys them Lets just say its lucky he's cute! Henry is a kitchen bin raider with every chance he gets he will have party all over the kitchen floor. Deniki is a total sheep and follows the others, but never really instigates things. He just annoys the others, and sometimes gets Koda caught. I can just imagine their little argument afterwards

So Excited Were Off To Our First Show!

I believe the rule with puppies is that they can hold their bladder for their age in months plus an hour, so for her that would be 4 hours. So maybe stop every 2 to keep it comfortable. But i imagine she'll just be sleeping! Especially if you do a little bit of mental and physical workout before getting into the car. I think it would be good to get her used to being away from the other dog. I didnt do this with mine and now have one that relies heavily on the other. i would recommend encouraging independence -

The couple i grew up with spent their entire lives running in and out of our dam :) Though i dont know if thats typical or not. -
Mine has something along those lines but its no cheaper than an actual playpen once you buy enough to make it a decent size. I think the really cheap panels are gone now.

Interesting! I may give this a go for Henry. Any specific type of pumpkin stressy?

Slow dog? I think I get 1 second... depending on how surprised my dog is by something landing in front of her. And the kid that waves a sausage sandwich in her face has no chance. You gave that to me, right? Very slow dog Henry just looks eternally confused and moves like a snail. The poor thing - i am not sure he's all there really..

Yes, i bought my 7D secondhand through gumtree off a professional surf photographer. the best thing was that he then spent about an hour with me showing me how to use it! ETA: i don think i would trust one of the grey imports..

I do think that is being unreasonable. I agree. You shouldn't be above the rules just because you are a long term client. Just to clarify I think in this case the kennel was being unreasonable. I see. I feel the opposite. I guess its many years of people taking advantage of my kindness that has left me bitter and unbending from the rules now IMO, rules are rules. Eg. the daycare near me charges $1.50 per minute if you are late to pick up your kid at the end of the day. So many times now i have thought of implementing something like that for my salon because i have had to change my plans to fit around someone else picking up or dropping off their dog at a different than agreed time.

Opinions On Some Breeds * PUPPY UPDATE PG 4*

All of those dogs would work :) Standard Poodle: I have always loved these, but atm am not game to own a large coated dog. Even though i am a dog groomer So intelligent but so pretty. Standard Schnauzer: Know quite a few brilliant ones, though know some very temperamental, snappy and sometimes downright dangerous ones. Though I would say they are BYB and a reputable breeder and proper socialiation/neutralisation would give you a dog in the former category. Needs regular clipping or stripping. Brittany: My friend owns these and they are awesome little dogs. They are very happy just lazing on the couch or out doing agility :) Boxer: So goofy, will make you laugh every day for their entire life. Cocker Spaniel: needs regular grooming, they are a good small/medium breed. Very happy go lucky. Also happy to miss a walk. Sometimes prone to seperation anxiety. GSP pointer: LOVE the black and white versions of these- so pretty. They are awesome dogs. Would definitely work. -
I do think that is being unreasonable. I agree. You shouldn't be above the rules just because you are a long term client. It is a business relationship, thinking of it as 'above the rules' is a bit childlike. I think the op's position is fine actually, she is showing plenty of understanding and some are trying to push the boundaries, she is right to stay clear on what she can and can't accomodate. In my example, I had worked with that kennel for years, been flexible when they needed it, and they didn't reciprocate when an airline let me down. That is the great thing in a market with some breadth, I got to take my large and regular amount of business elsewhere because they showed no repricocity and offered no reason why not. When they rang to inquire sweetly why they hadn't had my dogs for a few months I told them and they were shocked and claimed it would never have happened, they were still there for an hour after closing and for such a good client 15 minutes was nothing blah blah blah. Too late, I had found another business with better service. I seldom need to board these days, but I still use the second place when I do. Yes, i agree that it is a business relationship, but the rules are in place for a reason.. usually many good reasons actually. It just takes one time, you offer leniency and then they are pushing for it next time- and the amount you go out of your way just increases. In the end it ends in disaster/unhappiness. And ive found its the long term clients who are the worst for this! Not saying thats what you would do at all- but many others would. If the second place has better service perhaps it all worked out for the better anyways!

I do not think you are being unreasonable at all. I would stick to your chosen rules. i do dog grooming from home and get the same "Oh can i change it to tomorrow? Can i come in a few hours instead? Can i leave her there all day then?" No. If you do, you will ruin my entire day of appointments and create one bit fat mess. I do think that is being unreasonable. I agree. You shouldn't be above the rules just because you are a long term client.

Anzac: to live each day like its your last, and love everyone unconditionally. Kokoda: to find joy in the smallest of things. And that its never too cold for a swim. I have also learnt the correct way to bark at the postman. Deniki: to persevere with patience, and how to quell frustration. Henry: eating food dropped on he floor wont kill you - 5 second rule

Oh dear Perse. What on earth were you watching for take 1? Take 2 is adorable. -
Glad everyone is agreeing- this was my advice too. And i felt it would be potentially beneficial to the pup, so glad some have said it worked for them!

There isn't too much of a difference between the canon and nikons. My advice would be go to a shop and hold one of each. i personally preferred the feel of the canons and the locations of all its buttons etc were more natural to me. However, my friend hates using my canon and says it just feels wrong I started with a canon 1100d and love it. Still use it, but also bought a secondhand 7d which i just adore :) its previous life it was used by a professional surf photographer- now just used to photograph dogs mostly They both take excellent photos. And coupled with a good lens any would work for you :) Mirrorless, i cant help you with as i have only just recently heard about these.

May I ask for your recipe for peanut butter Yonjuro? :D I give my guys a smear of brought smooth peanut butter in their Kongs at bed time but I'd much rather make my own if possible. not yonjuros- but my sister literally just pours a packet of peanuts into the food processor and drizzles in a bit of coconut oil or peanut oil and a tiny pinch of salt! i'd maybe hold off on the salt for the dogs though. Yes I was thinking that myself...Shame when an OP can't comment on her own post & go slightly off topic...if that's what it is I must remember that in future...when I start a thread on Coriander for eg I must make a note to myself not to start talking about parsley or mint in case it offends someone  If you want to discuss the dangers of xylitol, go right ahead. My issue was the spreading of panic about peanut butter without properly reading the article or doing any of your own research to verify the risk of the product. This is not an issue of the thread changing course and I'm sure you are quite aware of that. Or possibly because sensible, knowledgeable people eventually give up trying to keep the tone of this section of the forum balanced and factual? Good on you Ouch. I'll have to rub some coconut oil and turmeric on that. Someones a bit snarky today I am sure it would work though- turmeric is a wonderful thing :D
