  1. I completely understand
  2. Titre testing is a way of checking a dog's antibodies/resistance to certain diseases by way of a blood test. Usually the core diseases in a normal C3 injection are tested for. The AVA has released studies saying that dogs should only really require vaccinating every 3 years rather than annually and people titre test their dogs instead of vaccinating as it shows their resistance to these diseases and if they do require re-vaccinating or not. Hope I got this right and that it makes sense. I'm still learning about titre testing myself! sounds right to me
  3. woohoo!!! :D Never heard of sagelight, I am downloading the trial tomorrow i think!
  4. Awesome, im glad, and nah, even if i tried to i could never pass Mishka as a purebred haha, you can definitely see both the breeds very clearly in her. I'm hoping to learn a lot, im actually planning to make a post on the training board :) Believe me i love talking about the kids, and talking with people about their own little furry kids, why i joined this site, no one i know is really a dog lover so i dont get to share stories, whether it be pride or wanting to rip my hair out haha Thats what i love about DOL too :) Welcome to the forum. Your kids are beautiful! And its ok, i am refer to mine as babies when i am talking to them :)
  5. Evidently it's optional. My vet pronounces it tie-ter. I always read it and pronounced it as 'titer' but then someone said it was 'tie-ter' like titration, which made sense to me :)
  6. I love my iphone :) I almost always have it with me, unlike my camera, so it comes in handy. These are my recent favourites!
  7. she is so cute!! More photos anytime ;)
  8. hahaha love the headbands! My cavs have snoods, but i got these ones https://www.etsy.com/au/listing/159495903/giraffe-dog-snood-stay-put-3-rows?ref=shop_home_active_3 so they still have ears- A zebra and a giraffe :D They also werent very impressed
  9. Drooling at these.. jealous. I want one too!
  10. wow! How is it pronounced? I have always wondered.
  11. I love better homes and gardens, But cant bear to watch his segment. The way he goes about some of his 'training' is just painful to watch and it annoys me So thats usually when i get up to empty the dishwasher or find something else to do until hes gone haha So these comments of his dont surprise me really..
  12. I will admit to watching this show Sometimes i just need something totally brainless. Love Figaro!
  13. I agree Kavik, its just that all of them are the same. Which i found a little odd
  14. Cavaliers generally arent, I didnt think Cockers were either. But my friend got one recently and he is :/ In fact so much so the neighbours started throwing things over the fence at him Apparently they commonly get seperation anxiety, and thats often why they bark. Though this would also be in the training aspects of the dog, and you seem rather dog savvy, so its probably ok :)
  15. My aunty has always had welsh springers. They are all so lovely!
  16. That is brilliant Thank you for sharing!
  17. No, i have no idea where they're from. Could be breeders, or could be pet shops/BYB type. Either way, i thought they were meant to be very happy dogs, like the cavs. But all the frequent ones are timid and snappy I agree that they certainly need training, of which i only know of one owner that comes in that does this with her two cockers. They still prefer to sit together on the bed away from everyone. I have never understood why they come haha But i agree with everything you have said about going through a responsible breeder. This helps health issue wise and then you can meet all of their dogs so you know their personalities :) If they refuse this, go elsewhere.
  18. I may be a bit bias, but cavaliers would be perfect :D Mine are very active dogs. Super friendly, happy, and easy to train. Two of mine come hiking, (the other is a recent rescue and is very overweight, so he doesnt accompany us yet), do agility, i want to start my tri in flyball, and my ruby LOVES swimming in dams. They could run all day. Yet, wont destroy your entire house if left without a walk for a couple of days. They are not generally nuisance barkers. Mine only bark at the postman, and sometimes my ruby does when he gets excited. They are supposedly horrid shedders, but i dont notice it too much. All my cats are worse! Just a brush every couple of days and they're fine. They are very good with children, and not as fragile as they would appear. But of course with any dog and overly excited children things could happen. I work at a doggy daycare, and 90% of the cockers get snappy. Which may not be a good trait with children? but this could also probably be managed with training. They also seem very timid and withdrawn with strangers, and often just go and sit in a corner. ETA: never met an american cocker, the above is in regards to english cockers :)
  19. I met a lagotto today. I have groomed her 3 times now, but I always thought she was a labradoodle! i work only out the back, so dont get to talk to owners. She is a very sweet girl, and is nicely behaved for grooming. But has THE worst underbite i have ever seen!
  20. Same Our neighbours dog was one of them. I even offered to take him walking with mine and they said no However, i did feed him whenever they went away and took him for plenty of walks. AMAZINGLY, he was so well behaved. The other thing is the he is a labradoodle, they got him clipped once a year which consisted of a 10 all over Theyve moved to canberra now, and i sometimes wonder how he is. ETA: S and G
