  1. Humans can have problems with Zantac. The drug does not 'do' what it is prescribed to do. It may be that the drug does not work for wee Danny. I wonder if another medication might be suitable. Have my thinking cap on. :)
  2. Runs a close second to a Vizsla or he who digs holes ALL over the garden spaced 18 inches apart. Thing is his brothers in QLD dig similar holes. Summat is going to happen. Back to the Labrador, you will have such fun creating a bond with this puppy. Photos when you can too, please. :D
  3. I have found it can take several months of dosing the grass outside with the DE to get the upper hand. Interesting you have mentioned the recurrence of fleas as I am having that issue here on The Hawkesbury. US friends do not use this on dogs over 7 years old. These are gun-dogs though.
  4. aw, SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE . Simply both are adorable.
  5. Been there, done that (when I lived in Canada). It takes a LOT of tomato juice to bath a Lab! Not funny and it doesn't completely remove the smell - just moderates it enough that you are not constantly gagging!! That stench of skunk prevades your taste buds for a long long time. Orion, our Senior Hunter Vizsla wore that smell as a badge of honour.
  6. The dude himself! Mister Cool in person. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Darling Stan. Hope your day has been great
  7. I was thinking about this thread last night. Considering that some places allow puppies to start Puppy School classes at 8 weeks, then I imagine there would be few troubles letting Puppy out to walk in selected places. I would check with the Vet there is no Parvo in the area and proceed carefully. That first summer we had Tibor in 2000, Parvo was rampant in The Hawkesbury. My Vet advised to avoid allowing Tibor out even in the neighbourhood. Informed choices will save MAZNAT's arms getting too heavy where Puppy could safely walk. :)
  8. I am now jinxed..... Horrible Horrible HORRIBLE Herbert barked the house down at about 04:00am dark time to go outside..... I stood AND watched as he did not aim to miss himself. Yep, he stank. Thank Dog I had face washers at hand all ready for duty. Quick wipe & all sorted and back to the warm bed. :)
  9. Herbert has the occasional episodes of 'pong'..... Usually when he has tinkled on himself & is so eager to get back inside.
  10. Oh, double SSSSSSSSSSSQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! What a ripper of a puppy.
  11. So that's my failure reasons? And I thought it was the 8 foot fences that have 2ft of metal dug underneath so no dog can dig out.... DaddyVizsla bomb-proofed the back yard entirely.
  12. i am a bit soft on him have been since the moment i got him out of his birth sack in the middle of my back paddock...we bonded instantly :) H He's a most sweet chap!
  13. I saw some in Tasmania a couple of years ago. Mrytlecreek was the Kennel name. Quite a few breeders around still
  14. http://www.hawkesburygazette.com.au/story/2994393/farewell-brave-beef/?cs=1201 A brave dog crossed to the Rainbow Bridge last week. He was given an honour guard at the base before he made his final journey, thrilled to be with his favourite human until the very end.
  15. Yep, they have that effect!!!!! So happy this came to be.
  16. And a puppy at heart and in your heart too.
  17. Think Dennys Dog is one lucky puppy then. My breeder, also a Vet, starts with a higher dose and then reduces. But that's easy for her. :)
  18. Just be a wee bit careful of Dr Google.... there's a fine line about what your Vet has actually witnessed, what is happening with dear Dennys Dog and what Dr Google says.... :)
  19. Nope, you are misunderstanding. These people came down to support their breed & friends who were showing. No question of 'playing' or sitting. I went because my breeder was there & I was needed to push show trolleys around. :D
  20. Well Done for the funds you raised. That's a great effort for a wonderful cause.
  21. I would like to place an Adoption bid for this fine specimen please..... he can bring the hooman foot too.
  22. I think it preferble to take this choice on a case by case basis. I helped a friend who was not in good health establish a much happier AND healther relationship with her dog. It did involve boarding and training. It did mean the dog was well trained by the staff. BUT the best outcome has been that she now has a happy relationship with the dog. Her mobility was handicapped after a MVA. That coinsided with the dog reaching its teenhood. It did mean chaos. Now, because she can deal with the boundaries needed, there is a good outcome. I do not think it should ever be a blanket do not consider board and train. :)
