  1. My two used to have to get theirs expressed 2 or 3 times a year but that was before I changed their diet to completley BARF. Haven't had a problem since. Dogon what do you feed?
  2. I had to laugh at the ad as well. Obviously the animals were drugged or hypnotised. As for the PedEgg
  3. OMG. What is wrong with people? The pug that I look after that has had pancreatitis is on a BARF diet of kangaroo BARF patties and chicken necks she also has a bone every now and again.
  4. Yes a kangaroo bone is a great idea. Also try raw veggies like whole carrots.
  5. My puggy boy lifted his leg on me a few times many moons ago when we used to do obedience training. He hated dropping in the wet grass so decided to let me know how he felt. I just about peed my pants laughing at him but the trainer said that I should have told him off. Is there a certain situation that leads to the dog mentioned lifting his head on his owners?
  6. The pugs sleep in bed with me. When my boy was a puppy he slept in his own bed and had snuggle time in mine. I'm no sure how long it was before he started sleeping in bed with me every night. With my girl she basically slept in bed with me from the age of 8 weeks. Both of them are fine wih sleeping in their own bed if I tell them to. They both know what 'snuggle' means. I have doggy steps for my bed so sometimes they will take themselves off to be before me if I am up late.
  7. Is the Pred prednisalone? I know that steroids can slow down and even stop healing.
  8. Chepet the photo looks like the area is bruised. Can your dog bite or scratch that area?
  9. Has your vet checked his prostate? What do you feed? Perhaps he is a bit constipated. You might consider adding some more fibre to his diet such as flaxseed oil and pulped vegtables.
  10. Without seeing your dog it sounds like Pigmentary Keratitis which is basically scar tissue. This can be caused by entropion (eyelids rolling inwards and irritating the eye), dry eye or a healed ulcer. If your dog has either entropion or dry eye that has caused this keratitis then I would be looking into treatment such as surgery to make the eyelids smaller and eyedrops as it is likely that it will continue to get worse. If it is a healed ulcer that has caused the keratitis then it wont get any larger and you could look at eyedrops to remove/reduce it if you so desired. How old is she?
  11. If he is scratching there then he has scratched his hair off. Could be anything from a food allergy to a contact allergy.
  12. In terms of logistical I can totally understand. Personally I don't have an hour or so to sit and supervise my pugs eating a bone every day, yes that's how long they take to eat a decent sized bone and I supervise so they don't fight or choke, so can totally understand why people choose to feed minced bone and meat rather then whole bones every day.
  13. Could be anything from nerve problems to and enlarged prostate. Is he actually trying to poo whilst he is outside? How active is he normally? I know that with most dogs taking them for a walk usually makes them poo within the first or second block. I am thinking that if he is fairly inactive and then he trots around the backyard for half an hour it would stimulate his bowl to poo. But for whatever reason he is not recognising these dignals and comes back inside before his bowl does the motion. I don't believe that he would be doing it on purpose.
  14. With just plain mince you wouldn't have the required bone content for a balanced diet.
  15. I have never come across turkey minced carcuss. Another alternative to a shop that sells the mince might be a turkey farm and see if they will sell you the carcusses, necks etc and then you could mince them yourself with a high powered mincer. Have you tried kangaroo?
  16. Fresh bones, meat, fish, offal, vegtables, fruit & dairy.
  17. Oh yucky. What unethical breeders. Hopefully your puppy will be fine. Your vet will probably tell you to worm again fairly soon.
  18. Looks like something is going on with his hips.
  19. Sound like she needs some anti inflams and to kept quiet.
  20. Mango sized? Do you mean that there is a massive lump stiching out of her the size of a mango or do you mean the length of the lump/swelling is the length of a mango? As others have said some bitches do develop swelling around the the suture site which is rather firm.
  21. Sounds like Leigh needs her anal glands emptied. I would steer away from processed chews as they are full of preservatives. Bones and even lumps of vegtables such as carrot are a much better alternative.
  22. Reputable breeders do not let their puppies go to new homes till they are at least 8 weeks old. Your baby is to young to have left it's litter mates and other dogs the breeder may have. Shame on the person who sold your puppy to you. Most people who bring home new puppies either take holidays for a few weeks, work part time, work from home or do not work at all. All you can do is make sure her crate & pen are comfortable. Perhaps leaving the radio or tv on might be of some comfort to her.
  23. Oh no. I thought that bloat was something that had to be delt with very quickly otherwise the stomach can twist. I think that they either put a tube down into the stomach or in some cases I have heard of them puncturing the skin and inserting a big needle into the stomach that way.
