  1. Sad news. RIP Divani, precious girl gone too soon. Sorry for your loss MonElite.
  2. Love cows...I have a secret affection for taking pics of cow noses ...yep I am speshal.
  3. Having small breed all I can say is "I love big paws and I cannot lie" Keep em coming :)
  4. So sorry to hear of your loss. I have lost one suddenly after a short walk together in the yard she came to me and was gone as soon as I scooped her up. I was left feeling dazed and shocked. So unexpected. My condolences to you. Run free Grover.
  5. Having owned an entire Samoyed that developed perianal tumors aged 10yr old...I can honestly say that there is a real health reason for desexing non breeding males. Tumors of this kind located in the perianal area can be benign or malignant. My surgery for this boy resulted in some faecal incontinence, but it was minimal and i was blessed with him for several years, passing at 16. Many spitz breeds are seemingly predisposed to having this condition, reason why I am not sure. It is my understanding several breeds aside from husky/spitz breeds. Testosterone is involved in the development of this tumour. As I am not a vet I cannot explain the why fors etc... It was a very invasive condition which involves very invasive surgery....and in an older dog aside from the complications that may occur because of the surgery it was not the thing you want to see an older boy go through. It changed my mind about neutering, which I thought only had behavioural benefits prior to this experience.
  6. How lovely they can enjoy retirement together.
  7. Thanks Kirty I was thinking that the dog pictured looked pretty bright despite its condition and wondered why PTS was chosen. I rescued a large breed pup in similar condition, belly full of stones...it made a full recovery.
  8. My link This , another case of owner failing to care for dogs adequately. I do hope the dog pts by rspca wasnt the black one in the pic...as skinny as it looks, it seems reasonably alert and bright to me...perhaps I dont understand rehabilitation of such cases.
  9. Thinking of you at this stressful time...hope things are on the improve over the next few days.
  10. Sorry to hear of your loss. Another special dog crosses the bridge. Such a beautiful tribute Think of you T&S.
  11. This in a battle of propaganda...I dont have a Twitter so I didn't realize that the Taliban has a twitter account. I guess my first thought is how genuine would a Taliban twitter account be? I am always skeptical of the internet and not being very knowledgeable in such things do not always believe what I read online. Is this a picture of a genuine Canine POW? Story here
  12. Oh wow! Thanks for the reply Ruthless much appreciated :) My only difference is my output is 75% and 72ppi (sharpen: high for screen) I will try to reset my settings. I think my pups are pretty ruthless and fetching...so I want to show em off to my friends some images that don't look "wrong"
  13. I often share the majority of my pics to my fb friends...and FB is not a photo friendly site! Yes I know...use flickr...etc.. but Im after ease and not looking to create a fan base. I do however like to show my pics as they are on my computer.... I find the landscape aspect doesnt seem to be distorted by fb on my timeline...but portrait aspect is just a PIA! Now I see Ruthless and other people post crisp portrait aspect shots online on FB so it can be done obviously... Is it that we see a link to another photo site rather than their FB timeline??? Any ideas...Im personally sick of being forced to share all my pics in landscape...some of my pics need to be shown in portrait aspect- why should my friends see out of focus , stretched images of my favorite photos? Any help here would be great...I use LR
  14. Been waiting for the au announcement...whats the Aussie $ on this one??

  17. personally i dont think there has been such a widely anticipated litter! .... SLF & Reba I hope all goes well in the upcoming weeks.
  18. oh wow...Im thrilled the update is so much better than I expected, given the absolute traumatic time you have both been through. Its just fantastic! I know Feather has some healing ahead but indeed this is so great to read. Get well soon Feather
  19. Oh my goodness I have tears just reading this- poor Feather. Poor you. Did the vet prescribe anything for an anxious owner? I thought once she was settled the vet may have done a check x ray to check her ribs/thorax..agreed the treatment will be rest. In this heat and her age I really feel for you both as you face this together.
  20. Another working canine lost on the job. So sad for all who knew him especially his handler. RIP Mojo My link
  21. Let me get this right...Someone bought a crossbred from a petshop (no seeing the parents) and sues that the crossbred is not as she expected (what did she expect-it doesnt really say)...all because she intended to use the dog as a mate for her dog.(resulting in more crossbreds) Factor in the comment below quoted from Hugh Wirth...well I am speechless. here
  22. How sad for all who knew him & his beloved Masie. RIP Michael.
  23. Multiple dog house here...and yes I have raised a singleton dog from pup. I find it hard to appreciate how one would pay for all the expenses required to maintain a dog and not work generally speaking. Self funded retirees maybe... Does the OP mean single person households??? Taking it on board and looking into generalisations...puppy may by this clause well to a home in rented premises as non working dog owners tend not to own too many houses. No guessing how many dogs are rehomed due to rental placements, ask a shelter. Many of these non -working owners also depend on emergency loans to get their vet bills paid...and seeing the "loan" is not for more than a few hundred...thats not a lot of medical attention. Generalizations over, whether you are full time or part time or home all the time a dog left in a four wall yard unattended, socialized and with little enrichment will not thrive. It is how much you invest in the dog with your situation that is the matter here...not everything is black and white. Just my opinion of course. ..it hasnt been raised but I have fostered dogs that have had an owner 24/7 that have had the worst separation anxiety. Never given the chance they have had no opportunity to develop their own confidence to adjust to changes. I understand that a breeder needs to examine the pros and cons of every applicant but indeed I feel some great homes may well be overlooked. That being said Jed is entitled to her opinion as to where she places her pups. I choose to disagree because I have seen evidence of bad & good in working/non working situations and think placing a decision on this alone is way too simple.
  24. Just of interest have they been tested for FIV? I rescued/ then adopted a Siamese from a cat hoarder once...he was positive FIV. That meant I had to be vigilant as he was prone to getting flu like illness which would usually end up with him getting abs and spending time on iv fluids. Reoccurred every 12 mths or so I would recommend FIV status before rehoming. I wish them a wonderful home.
  25. I see it as an amazing in the moment capture. Yes indeed the fox has met with a grizzly end, but then again think of all the farm kept animals which has fallen prey to a fox. Food chain in action. Perhaps for the squeamish it might afford a warning on title.
