kamuzz has them for her destructive gsd, and he hasn't chewed it yet she has a spare one, and i borrowed it to try, but it was too puffy, and big, dogs didn't like it. she may sell it to you, its new

i have just realised how lucky i am, my dogs don't do anything bad except my new bully, who can't go offlead as he just decides when he wants to go home he will, and his walks consist's of ambling 2 doors down and then just stopping to look around hard trying to get him leaner when he won't move :D

because her colour is the one most people assosiate (sp) with pits, thats all, so i thought she may not make it out. hp is a good pound, they don't get that many amstaffs in, blacktown pound , and renbury ( who i believe has one now) ,has lots of dogs just like this girl dying all the time, i have walked many a time past kennels there with dogs in which are not for resale due to their breed.

A Few Questions About Feeding My Dogs
juice replied to FranVT's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
spotty, optimum (sp), is just kibble from petshop, i used to feed him supercoat sensitive after his stones, i was recommended by someone from dally club , but last year they stopped making it. so i looked at kibble which had no red meat in, and wasn't too expensive, and came up with this. so far so good. -
spiff, i think you will find leo's original owner is a member here, who bred him, he was due to go back there, after she found out what had happened to him, but stayed with his new mum who fell in love with him aftr picking him up . still remember the story so well as it unfolded

A Few Questions About Feeding My Dogs
juice replied to FranVT's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
i don't feed beef either as i have a dally who has had stones. spotty, i thought fish was high in purine's too? i feed him optinum chicken and rice, and he gets a couple of necks, and a wing for brekky. i have just put my new bully on this too in the hope it will clear up his skin problem, if it doesn't eagle pack has been recommended, however not cheap, so hoping this will work -
yes, we are neg for cushings!! pathologist says if he has been on cortisone for years it can cause the symptoms sometimes, and being as he is from the pound, i have no history on him, its possible. in the last week, he has really settled down, have changed his food, and he isn't starving anymore, but do need to sort out his skin, hoping the change of food will do it. have to say, wasn't happy with my vet, will be using another vet we use for rescue instead, further away, but lost confidence in this one. i learnt alot about cushings! and the support here was something else!!! thanks guys

why? why not sort out what is bothering it.

i hate it too, didn't know our vet had a cat till i walked in and it was sitting under the chair right next to the door, good job i had a prong on, or it would have been chaos. none of my dog like cats
-
why has he just started ?any idea's? mine are out 24/7, and they only bark if someone or thing comes too close to our back fence, which i want them too. have things changed to make him do this?

actually my new addition does it too 8 year old desexed bully . he does it after i have been hanging out with them all outside, sitting patting them or playing tug, he then goes over to a bed, grabs it in his mouth try's to rip it, and humps it stops for a pant, and keeps going he also lays in the frog position on my astro turf, and rocks back and forth, my son thinks he looks "so wrong" ;)
-
i know, have to drop him off at 9am, luckily its stormed here tonight, as is forcast to be colder tommorrow, or would worry about him being in a run at vets allday i am not that happy with my vet, i use her as she is one of our rescue vets, and try's to keep the price down, even though he is now mine. the first bloods were done only 2 days after i had stopped the cortisone, so they would have made the enzyme level be high,so a waste really, then monday was another waste too i reckon. but since i started with her i may aswell finish the last one tommorrow. if its positive, will get referal staright away, if its another neg, will go to other vet i sometimes use, wish i had gone there first now.

ozzie my cattle will play with anyone who can take his rough herding play, which involves stalking, and rushing and chasing and nipping his best mate's for this are a shnauzer, an aussie and kamuzz's gsd's ;) my bully likes to "box" with ozzie at home, nothing too involved with running my dally has no time for play, too many bunnies to look for
-
i agree, thought he was having the supression test monday cost me a fortune so far, this is the third set of bloods he has had sent away ;) but i have no choice, have come this far. just frustrating waiting again.
-
vet has just rung, bloods have come back neg for cushings, however, the pathologist and vet think it maybe a false neg he had the stimulus test, so now he has to go back tommorrow for the suppression test. vet is worried something else is masking the cushings. he has all the symptoms, trying to think of anything else with these symptoms, panting, lots of water, starving, taught tummy, not wanting to exercise, skin problems? so in tommorrow, and bloods maybe back by friday, just so need to know what is going on

no news yet, been out by the pool, dogs in the salon with the air on
-
thanks kelly, if its positive they said they will refer be to baulkham hills specialist. if so, i will see if he can go on the liquid too.
-
waiting on results today feeling very anxious. j, do you mind me gatecrashing your thread, will start a new one if you prefer, but like all the moral support here when we weighed him at vet he had put on 5kg in 3 weeks changing food to lite! i was talking to my sis in the us, and she just sent me a link for meds over there, lysdron ( sp)was $582 for 100 tabs, but i told her i have to wait, he may not get put on it.

are the 90% shade sails better than the best lazerlite? i have the cream lazerlite on my pergola, its the one that gives the most shade, but was wondering about putting a shade sail over the garden too, now i have fake turf i don't need to worry about it getting some sun for grass just trying to give them lots of shade options. do the shade sails get full of water though when it storms? we get really big downfalls sometimes.

Going For A Walk Vs Exercising In A Yard
juice replied to Baby Dragon's topic in General Dog Discussion
my dally loves his daily rabbit hunt he spends ages ,head down tail wagging on the scent, just pop's his head up to check where me and ozzie are, then carry's on. doesn't catch many these days as he is older, but boy does he enjoy the search they also get to swim in the lake everyday, meet other dogs, chat to neighbours on the way back, we can be out for hours by the time we've greeted everyone -
several times i have been asked if my dally is a cross, greyhound being the common one, used to get dane or greyhound for my wei too. my dally x
