  1. Gorgeous photos - And I agree Nova is stunning. My two however do not like getting their photo taken.

  4. How's Crumpet going, luvmybulldog? I love that name too. :D Food treats always go down well over here too. I have some green lipped mussels on the way that I found for a great price. Crumps going ok - Thank PK. Had a bit of a scare on Sunday - She suddenly went blind, stumbling and running into walls, cupboards and collapsing. she was completely freaked out ( me too ). Rushed up to QVS where they ran full bloods that showed nothing. Her BP was through the roof and they said that could cause swelling behind the eyes and advised that it could be that her retinas had detached but I would have to see an ophthalmologist, then the vet told me that I probably wouldn't get an appt. till the coming Wednesday and by then it would be too late. I had to ask for some sedatives to calm her down. I gave her two tablets when I got her home and I also gave her half a pred tablet ( she has these on hand in case of a bee sting ) thinking it may ease any swelling. Any way, she was zonked out for the night and when she got up on Monday morning she could see again. She's been ok through the last few days but I'm giving her a quarter of a sedative tablet in the morning before I go to work to keep her calm and she went back to get the stitches removed today. Her leg is going fine and Jason had a good look at her eyes and said he can't see any problem so I'm going to see how she goes and give her time to get over the surgery and then decide if seeing the eye specialist is the next step. I wish I knew what bought it on, I thought it could be a reaction to the anaesthetic or the Carprieve or Amoxyclav but the vet tells me that they shouldn't cause any problems like that. Just keeping fingers crossed she keeps going ok and there is no damage to her eyes. Sorry for the long reply everyone.
  5. Crumpets Christmas has come early this year - She got Cruciate surgery on Monday. Not much fun for her or me or the bank account. I bought Shab a new bed - no idea why - she prefers to sleep on the lounge, but I like it. They are both getting new microfibre towels and new food dishes. I always end up getting them food treats of some sort because they're not into playing with toys anymore, well Crumpet kind of is but she usually just wants to destroy whatever I give her. Pretty sure they'll be happy with treats though they're both obsessed with food.
  6. So sorry for your loss Perry's Mum - RIP Perry
  7. So sorry for your loss Flashsmum - May you Rest in Peace Harry.
  8. Such a horrible cancer Bosley was also epileptic so with his medication (pheno/bromide) perfectly masking the symptoms, we had no hope in hell of noticing anything wrong. Although as our vet pointed out, even if caught early enough to be treated with surgery, you can buy them another 12 months, at most. How old was your boy? Our vet seemed very surprised that it was an insulinoma, given Bosley was only four. Typical of Bosley's luck, to end up with a cancer unusual in younger dogs :/ Hoover was just short of his 11th birthday - Cancer sucks and it just doesn't seem fair that you've lost your beautiful boy so young. It's so hard to lose them, they leave such a huge empty space. I'm so sorry you had to say goodbye to him.
  9. So sorry for your loss Maddy - I understand your heartbreak, I lost my boy in June to this and he too showed no symptoms. Your beautiful tribute to him shows how much you love him. May you Rest in Peace Bosley.
  10. So sorry for your loss Moosmum - Rest in Peace gorgeous boy.
  11. So sorry you had to say goodbye to your little one Isabel, such beautiful memories of the wonderful life and love she shared with you all that you will treasure forever. RIP dear Jindi.
  12. These guys have the bone shaped ones http://www.dogshq.co.../new-dog-pools/
  13. Probably the most common thing we all share is our love of food and tendency to put on weight if we don't exercise. I hope no one thinks I look like Crumpet but we're both stubborn and don't give in easily, a little grouchy if we don't get enough sleep and we both don't see the need for running flat out unless we're chasing something. We don't like pushy or in your face kinds of people or dogs and tend to have a bit of a short temper if someone is annoying us. Shabby loves to talk just like me and we both love the beach and being outdoors, a little wary of strangers until we know them (unless they have food), and we both love walking even though we're getting older and slower. Two things I don't share in common with them - I don't eat poo (Crumpet ) and I don't hump strangers ( Shabby ).
  14. Their facebook page says "Happy ending to our "tail " ..... Theo has been reunited with his family. Our police officer is still waiting to be homed but unfortunately this is not a dating site.
  15. I would love to have an Italian Spinone. My household is down to me and my two girls now and they are both getting on in years, and although I'm hoping that they will be around for a long time yet I know that day will come when I have to say goodbye to them too and I don't think I could ever live without having a dog in my life. I'd love to get into some sort of activity with my future dog like Tracking, something that will keep both me and him/her fit and active. No colour or sex preference for me I'll just be lucky if I'm able to find one when the time comes.
  16. Henry is beautiful Boronia and such a lucky boy to have you - I so miss having a little boy in my house. Both he and Saffy have hit the jackpot coming to live with you.
  17. So sorry for your loss MW, saying goodbye is so hard. RIP Fleming.
  18. She's beautiful Boronia - What a lucky girl she is to be making her home with you. May she bring some joy into your lives at this sad time and help you all to heal.
  19. Oh Boronia, I too can not even imagine your pain - I am so sorry. Run free with the girls Mac.

  21. I'm so sorry for your loss DDD - What a wonderful life Danny lived with you and how lucky you both were to have found each other. RIP Little Red Man.
  22. I love seeing all the photos of everyone's dogs. I have my Bulldog Crumpet who is 8 this year. She's stubborn, funny and a real handful but I love her to pieces even when she rolls in the dirt after having a bath or a swim. The only drawback is she eats poo of any kind. I also have Shabby, my PBGV who is 11. She has only been with me about 2 and a half years but she is such a joy and I'm so lucky to have her. And I can't leave out my gorgeous boy Hoover, who I lost 8 weeks ago. He was my special little man and I miss him terribly.
  23. RIP Charlie - So sorry for your family's loss Cazablanca.
  24. I'm so sorry for your and your family's loss Swain - May you RIP Buddy.
