  1. Well that all sounds like a bit of a f*** up!
  2. Thanks for your interest in this :) We found some lower sodium kibbles. Canidae, TOTW and Ziwipeak all run at around 0.3% sodium. Which is derived from the meat content. The vet is going to try with a treatment of low dose of hydrochlorothiazide (2 mg/kg, twice daily) together with a low sodium diet. I believe that the only prescription diets with lower sodium than the above were canned food, at around 0.21 - but if you take into consideration the water content and the fact that ZiwiPeak canned is 0.13% it still seems to indicate that the non-prescription foods come out better. So that was the latest news, I will let you know if anything else comes up :) Both l/d & k/d are low sodium. That is the dry. l/d is .21 and k/d is .18.
  3. I got some dog beds from these furniture makers at a market. They could probably make you up one if they didn't have a big enough one. Border collie size was $40 so they aren't super expensive. http://furnituremakers.net.au/
  4. OMG.. I need one!! Yeah I don't 'need' one but I want one. To escape to. Except I live by myself I've got a thing about these little garden rooms though.
  5. I taught a little Chi X that was well a basket case. The owner tried so hard and kept coming to class every week. She ended up putting the pup on Prozac too and the difference was amazing! Was very interesting to see. So hope it works for you.
  6. I know you have said no to an extension etc but I saw this last night and thought of you. It is a portable garden room - http://inoutside.com.au/
  7. Dr Google says it is a series of shots and you should have a booster after 10 years. I've had 2 boosters as an adult after being bitten.
  8. After saying *I* hadn't had a problem I did suggest a male/female pair. And the only reason I have 2 girls is because my male died so it wasn't a planned thing.
  9. I've had such a different experience! My girls work like stink for me. Run through fire type of work. And very, very devoted. The boys have been sweet and good but haven't given the level of sharpness that I get from the girls. Other people could work the boys but not the girls. I haven't had issues with having 2 girls but I would also suggest boy/girl pairings to be safe. All 3 of my girls have been not friendly with outside dogs. The boys have been more tolerant.
  10. Don't some of the tinned cat foods say something like 'not a complete diet' or something like that on them? Just looked at the Fancy Feast Broth on the website for instance and it says - Intended for occasional or supplemental feeding.
  11. Really need to get someone in to check them all out. It may even be the others starting it without you noticing the subtle signs.
  12. Check for copper storage disease too.
  13. Fairly sure the question was what kibble is low in sodium not should the dog be fed a low sodium diet!
  14. The Prescription ones. Kidney or liver. Also need to watch any cookies/treats.
  15. Have you looked into Tellington Touch at all Snook? Just thought about it when you mentioned rear end work etc. This is the Australian site - http://www.ttouchaustralia.com.au/companion_animals_2.html I've done a bit of it with horses.
  16. You don't have to have a pedigree to enter the sports you mentioned. You just register the dog as an associate.
  17. Can Myf be contained in some way which will make it safer for the feeding person?
  18. It isn't just a purebred site, it is a show site. I assume that the owner makes money from the show stuff on the website. Things can be discussed in a respectful manner. Saying "maybe we should stop having shows" is not respectful. denaili's post showing a dog she admires is respectful and positive.
  19. Forum rule 6: No denigration of dog shows or exhibitors (and no show ring 'politics') Our site actively promotes the exhibition of pure bred dogs. We prefer to concentrate on the 'positives' of this activity. If you have a gripe about what happened at a particular show or the conduct of an exhibitor, please take your soapbox elsewhere.
  20. You would need a couple of hundred acres for this!! A dog near my last house used to annoy the crap out of me because it was barking at night. All the properties were acreage and the barking dog was a good distance away. It seriously sounded like it was in my back yard!
  21. So sorry. You did everything that you could for Anna, including the final gift to end her pain. Hugs to you and RIP Anna.
  22. Or they just worked out that trying to escape didn't profit them.
