  1. I agree with two previous posters, to find a good home for her, she is young and full of beans and it would be a very big ask to expect someone to take her on for an indeterminable time, I look after dogs from time to time and a month was the longest I did that for and I must say as much as I loved them I really was glad to see them go home, it is just so much extra work even with a calm adult and I do stress out a bit that nothing happens too them during their time with me. Please seriously think about the rehome option, I certainly would not take on looking after a puppy for such a long time.
  2. Great news and an exciting busy time ahead, when they are old enough of course we all need to have photos. Love greyhounds, I have a nine year old Italian greyhound, she is absolutely adorable, even more so now with the beautiful grey face and not so over the top, all she wants is to have cuddles, a walk and a in the morning, then she is asleep with her blanket over her on the couch, doesn't matter how hot or cold the weather is she has to have her comfort blanket.
  3. Maybe get him a belly band for inside until you have him sorted with the vet.
  4. My very first Frenchie, 1982, Emma always slept hanging over the edge of whatever she decided to go to sleep on, I always worried that she would slip off so put a pillow straight underneath her, she never ever slipped off she lived until she was 12 years old and always slept this way, bless her.
  5. Even the pot bellied pig, just wonderful
  6. All my dogs, four, have their own crates so as they have their own space especially at night time, a puppy can be annoying wanting to play and your older dog deserves its own space.
  7. Definitely needs the vet to see what is going on. I never use human medication on my dogs, especially the eyes, unless OK'd by the vet. Your dog would need the eyes bathed to clear away the discharge.
  8. Maybe you should put this request in General or Breeders thread, I do not know how many people would see it here. My husband made mine about 10 years ago and did not cost more than $40, he put castors on it so as it was easy to move around for cleaning.
  9. So sorry to hear of Saffy's passing, it does leave a massive hole in the household when our beautiful friends pass onto the
  10. Congratulations on the arrival of four beautiful babies, hope Mum and Bubs are all settled and doing well.
  11. Whoops not jokes, fingers getting in the way I meant choke.
  12. If feeding raw chicken necks I would not give them whole to six week old puppies, they could joke. I feed my dogs chicken necks but I chop them up into bite size pieces, to prevent choking.
  13. That is so sad to hear about Stella's Mum, at least Stella will be back to a familiar place with you.

  16. To the forum and best of luck with your first litter. You will get plenty of help here if you have concerns just ask and you will be given the best advice. I have been breeding and showing since 1969, it is rewarding but be aware there are ups and downs in the breeding game, as long as you have a good vet you are half way there.
  17. So sorry to hear of Friskies passing, such a grand old soul. Fly to the beautiful Friskie. Three gone in nine months that is more than a person should have to cope with.
  18. Last week on Super vet, he is in Surrey, he was treating a beautiful 9 year old Staffie who is a seizure dog, it was quite amazing to hear how this dog, the owner also had a live in carer, knew a least a couple of ,minutes before her owner was going to have a seizure and alert the carer. The owner a lovely lady, said that if it was not for her girl she would have died as she suffers from nocturnal seizures. Our beautiful dogs are just amazing, no wonder they are called dog as if you reverse it it spells God.
  19. Jarrah. What a gorgeous old senior she is, grey face and all, I also have a couple here with the grey faces and still fit and strong but not as old as your precious girl.
  20. I posted in the Great Dane thread, I am so sorry.
  21. Have you thought of using a Halti lead, there is a piece that goes over the nose, not up with them as my breed could not wear one, but it gives head control.
  22. That is great, at least the offer was there, good on you.
  23. As Persephone has said no ordinary disinfectant will get rid of Parvo, F10 is the very best. Do not go into your home with the clothes that you went to the show in, have a change of clothing somewhere handy to change into before you even dream of going into your puppies. Personally I would not even go too the show, too much risk for your puppies, especially if you touch other peoples dogs, the hands would have to be washed in diluted F10 as well. Big risk, I put the well being of my puppies before anything that would bring risk home. There is always other shows every weekend, just be patient until your puppies are immunised twice or gone to their new homes for their sake.
  24. Longdogs are you able to give board to this dog? I always look after Frenchies when their owners are going on holidays as Frenchies and I would imagine Dachshunds need someone who understands the needs of these breeds. Frenchies would not adapt to a kennel situation as they need the company of humans and would fret.
