  1. She is gorgeous, what a lucky little girl she is having found you.
  2. Do not let him have free range of you home, he needs time out and should have a crate to be put into and ignored for an hour or two, then you have to start being the "boss" and train him that everything in the house is not for his pleasure, you have some good things to read up on as sent to you by Persephone. I notice that you have posted on several things that your puppy has been doing, is this your first dog? may I suggest that once the pup turns six months that you enrol in an obedience club they will not only train your dog but they will train you.
  3. WM depending where you are moving too on the South Coast, but the Encounter Bay vet looks after one of my friends dogs and she is an advocate for them as they are caring and thorough, the vet owns the practice, not one of those vet clinics owned by a chain. Of course I highly recommend my vet but we are at Aberfoyle Park, not quite the South coast.
  4. Stella is just a gorgeous little girl, love her.
  5. Don Burke has a lot to answer for, he was the one that encouraged cross breeding them and he was the one that started these oodle names. I know that as a fact, when he had his program Burke's backyard and they road tested different pedigree dogs, I was approached to road test the French Bulldog, I was glad to oblige, I had to get 24 Frenchies, very difficult in those days, not like today. After the filming of the segment he came over to me and suggested that I cross breed the Frenchie, I guess he would have made up a"breed" name for them too, from that day on I never watched the program and whenever I hear him on radio as a guest my blood boils. So Phyl enjoy your little girl but please please realise she is just a mutt/mongrel. A question? why could you not have gone to where this person lived? raises a question to me, anyone who has nothing to hide would invite you to their place to see the pup, could not fly?????? I send puppies interstate and overseas all the time from nine weeks of age and never a problem, I hope that this is not from Gumtree. Lot of money paid for a cross breed, could have got a purebred for about that much money $1650.
  6. I am so sorry for the loss of your stunning Molly, that video brought tears to my eyes. Precious Molly fly with the angels to the you have left the most amazing memories for your Mum to cherish. too Molly's Mum and family.
  7. I have been following this thread hoping upon hope that you would find your little girl soon, so happy for you that at last you have a little girl to cuddle. But, I second what Boronia has said, there is no such thing as a moodle or any other oodle, they are xbreeds, when I was young and that is way way back in history, they were called mutts and given away, how times have changed.
  8. dear Feather, she is just so precious. When they get on in years you treasure every moment that you have with them, making wonderful memories,
  9. I am wondering if the third eyelids are unpigmented? A photo would help. I would be asking for your money back and send her back to the breeder as she is not what you were expecting, not suitable for showing or breeding with, maybe the breeder would pay for her return or the two of you share the cost, if the puppy were mine as a breeder I would prefer to pay the transport costs to just get the puppy back and rehome her myself to someone local so as I could meet them and be sure that it was the best home for a pet. This is the very reason I do not sell out of SA when I have the occasional litter here, I need to meet the people personally.
  10. If the pups are registered and the breeder sells the puppies they must be transferred to the new ownership within 14 days. By the sounds of things it could be any of the situations that Diva mentioned. Personally if you want a pure bred Chi I would have a look on here with the registered breeders just go to home page of DOL and click on "Puppies for sale". You have no guarantee that this particular puppy is purebred.
  11. This is an old thread, started in November 2015, I am sure that whomever started looking for a larger dog would have found one by now.
  12. Beautiful boy the loved ones of ours will be there waiting for you and show you just the best of times. Scotties Mum, you loved him so much and he knew how lucky he was to have found you to care and love him, he has left some loving memories for you to hold onto. Take care of yourself, you have done the right thing for this dear little man.
  13. So so sorry for you the way that you are feeling at this moment, but I too have lost a beautiful boy to dementia in 2013, it is just so hard to say goodbye, but now, although I miss him dearly, I think of all the wonderful times we spent together and some of the memories allow me to smile and say " thank you Finn for all the laughs, love and special moments that we have spent together. Be easy on yourself.
  14. Over Easter there are no dog shows at Kilburn, they do the country circuits in the SE and Pt Augusta around that area, but next weekend they will be back at Kilburn.
  15. Zena'sMum, such a wrench for you and yours as I could read between the lines how much she was a part of your life, hope that her daughter does not fret too much. Fly to the precious and watch over the loving family that you have left behind with beautiful memories.
  16. I would suggest that you attend the shows that are held every weekend at the David Roche complex, Cromwell Rd., Kilburn, judging usually commences at 8.30 or 9 am, the Border collies would be practically the first breed in the ring, ring 5, working dogs, so you would have to be there early. You would be able to watch the judging of the Border Collies and after they have completed their showing you could go and talk to the owners of the dogs and get a feel for which breeder may suit you may be give you a guide as too puppies.
  17. With my breed, had them for 35 years, I have never removed the dewclaws and never had a problem with them, I always say when they are born, "What you see is what you get" When I purchased my first one she had her dewclaws and so did the very few people who owned them, kept them on their dogs, bit different today re how many people have them, so I continued on in this manner. I know that some breeders are removing them, frightened that they would possibly tear them, also for "clean lines" for the show ring, but they do all sorts of un necessary trimming. Very interesting article Roova.
  18. I too remember you and your beautiful boy Fonz. So hard to lose your precious boy, but knowing he was so truly loved and appreciated for all those years is so important. Fly with the for you certainly was one of them down here, to the to you and your family.
  19. You have said that you are looking for a Corgi, my question is, are you interested in the Pembroke Corgi or Cardigan Corgi, they are very different, had Pembroke Corgis years ago.
  20. They are great with older children, younger ones they would knock over, they are quite strong. Air conditioning is a must, mine spend all the hot weather inside only going out when they really need too, they rush out do what they have to do and come rushing back inside and throwing themselves down under one of the air vents on the cool tiles then in winter same thing only rush back for the warmth, coat wise they are easy maintenance, but to keep them happy definitely an indoor dog for most of the time. Should you decide on the Frenchie contact me and I can put you in touch with breeders that I know. I have had them since 1982.
  21. Definitely I would re think a Frenchie, they are active but not to be running with children for hours, they would not be able to tolerate that, especially when the weather is warm, they are an indoor dog, do not like the heat or the cold, if given the choice they would prefer the cooler weather, they are a single coated dog so do not have an undercoat to keep them warm.
  22. I have a friend who has a nine week old litter, one of them a usually good eater went off of his food, if he ate he would vomit, so off to the vet, they did an ultra sound and found that he had a large stone blocking his intestines, poor little man had to have an operation, amongst the rest of the debri was chewed up newspaper and a mixture of things that puppies are inclined to pick up and eat. It is a week since the operation and he is now back sparking on all six like nothing had ever gone wrong, this happened two days before he was due to go to his new home, so next week he is off to his forever home. Best of luck with your baby puppy.
