People Wonder Why I'm Scared Of Spiders...

Currently I have a small huntsman living in the bathroom. It is welcome to stay as long as it follows the house rules:

1. Stay up high

2. Dont feel tempted to go near my puter

3. Stay away from my ensuite.

After seeing that living pinecone I have added two more rules:

4. Female spiders are no longer welcome

5. All spiders who live in my house must be celibate.

All those who dont obey the house rules get a free ride in my dyson.

I don't know if it's true, but someone told me that huntsmen drop down off the roof so being up high doesn't mean you're safe  I can't stand having a spider up above my head after being told that

(I vacuum them up too!)

We have exactly the same rules and after this thread i was mentally adding rule 4 and 5 to the list as well. We do give them the chance of being escorted out though and warned not to come back.

White tails and redbacks are killed on appearance.

We also have rule

6. Stay the hell away from the dogs and my bedroom.

My policy is pretty hard line - if I see you, you die (as long as I can kill you relatively easily and safely from a distance). I'd do the inside/outside rule, except that Gypsy goes hunting in the grass and along the fence line at night, and the idea of her eating spiders horrifies me (beetles and bugs are fine though)

Those are my house rules too... but now that you told me huntsmen drop from the roof they are all dead, coz i cant stand to get near the ugly things... luckily my girls stay away from spiders!!

If they are little they generally get a bit of a lifespan unless they are black.

To make matters worse, during the night I felt something crawl across my chest, and I flicked it away thinking I was "feeling things"

Getting ready for work the next day I saw an effing scorpion crawling across the floor, about 7cm long <including the tail>.

YUCK

:) Great pics.

We had an encounter with a beast years ago in my daughter's bedroom.

It was a gigantic bird eating tarantula :xmascheer:

MASSIVE, :thumbsup::thumbsup:

Now they sell baby ones for $100

No thanks.

Daughter slept with son for 3 months  she would not go back to her room, can't blame her. She was about 17 at the time. We are all still scarred by the night of the beast.

WOW !! very nice spidey :-) I hope mumma & babies are still breathing ?

I love hunstmen, they are always welcome at our place, not whitetips though, they get scooped up and put outside.

fifi

Huntsmen are very welcome here too, although one gave me a fright the other night as it was on the opposite side of the garage door and I nearly put my hand on him. Mum has one who lives behind a painting in her living room and is the chief mosquito killer in her house. I have an orb spider out near the gardenias, I love to watch her build her web ever so delicately of an evening and then take it down the next day. Fascinating.

Rules are very simple in my house:

You stay outside you live

You come inside you die!!!

mmwaaahahahahaha

+1

Here's one we had on a window at work a few months back:

Over a 12 hour period, she hoisted this poor lil guy up over 1 metre - from on a window sill (where she must have caught him), to up under the (outside) blind hood.

.. I'm sticking to normal Victoria :worship:

Normal Victoria... lol, that's funny.
