  1. especially since it is really only the second time the pups have been introduced to strangers! I was impressed :) their mum has been known to climb in a guest's swag on a cold night - giving folks a very rude shock! ;) I rather like one dog nights like that. The Heart dog was a specialist. He would go to sleep on the dog bed at the foot of the bed. Then join me later in the night to do Sphinx poses.
  2. Poor girl, she deserves so much better than this at her age. Profile appears deleted now. Cant find it anywhere. Praying she is now safe.
  3. Aw, is there anything better? Puppies friendly and happy with visitors
  4. Maybe not a last walk, not a treat but the bravest act of being her Momma. You gave her help to be free of pain. Of course the memory of walks & treats is what we want. But when life delivers a curve ball, you stood up. HUGS, kirty. Love to you at this sad time. Rest in peace, Maisie.
  5. So sorry to read of this. What a fine looking big boy. Be Free, Chisel, so loved.
  6. That made me cry.... sad that the first owners were sh*ts but happy Fred 'got' lucky. My Heart dog was a rescue. I understand exactly what is involved.
  7. So many years ago now, I can always recall my grandparents telling us about how they selected their dogs for breeding. One of the points stressed was the chance(s) of failure and dogs not in good health. I have seen my Grandfather wiping his eyes after letting a weak sick puppy go. But his reasons were for the good of his breeding plan, never for money.
  8. He certainly was that Keisha. A big loveable idiot. :) Hugs again. Our first dog touches us so totally deeply forever.
  9. Only if you help him to re-learn when to play and how to play, imo. I think perse hit the nail on the head. It may not be your boy that has the issue. But his interaction with another dog might have consequences. I think the problem will arise if he meets a reactive dog.
  10. Oh Baby! Oh Baby! Squuuueeeeeeeeeee Woof!
  11. MyBad. I neglected to say how very swish Ronin looks in that harness. Tend to squeeee a little over Iggies. However Ronin merits one as well.
  12. Yeah.... How's your baby & his Momma?
  13. Maybe at Costco. Here's a laugh . The canned pumpkin is usually in the dessert section in USA supermarkets. It is actually used for making pumpkin pies. ( Or was when I lived State side). :D
  14. Oh, Alex, I am so sorry. I am glad you could hold Jesse and let him know how loved he is as he crossed over. Life is cruel at times. Be free, Jesse.
  15. Poor boy. Metamucil is a bit strong, imo. Make sure he is drinking heaps. I would either try mashed/cooked pumpkin & butternut with very small slivers of the outer skin. ( No more than a heaped teaspoon of skin). The other choice is commerical tinned dog food. That is if your nose can handle the gas afterwards. Wishing your boy the best for a speedy recovery. :D
  16. Agree with cavNrott. And I am so pleased DOL rose to the occasion LOL. Looking forward to more updates about Adventures in Cookie Land. Must make special mention of the totally fabulous photos supplied as well. Belated welcome to ks89 & Cookie.
  17. Well done!!!!! Making up a box of toys for Horrible Herbert. Shall try to source these.
  18. Gosh, I thought that could have the reverse effect. Does for this human. Hmmm. :) ETA: blonde moment. Read Yonjuro's thread where the husks were explained further. oops x.
  19. Since I posted, this is what has happened to the puppy. Shall take on board the advice you got too. Thanks for the topic. :D
