  1. One who 'does' a lot of whelping too. Agreed with this. I imagine any old vet wouldnt know too much about this as its not too common.
  2. Miberlone got abused badly by humans for weight building. For bitches, you should never use it before the first season. Also there are a whole heap of side effects that mean due care and diligence needs to be taken for its usage. Can be very toxic. I did read that But no other drugs came up in my searching- So would one of them likely be the ones greyhound trainers are using?
  3. Damn. I've never had a female dog so haven't had to deal with this. They looked good to me! I did some googling: Though another website said you still have to isolate the bitch from males? So this may not be the pill people are talking about. Also found this ETA: Just found this- very helpful. http://www.lowchensaustralia.com/breeding/birthcontrol.htm
  4. May be a stupid suggestion- but if he can't lock her up, can she just wear pants during her season? Like a chastity belt of sorts ETA: I've no experience with entire dogs, and working dogs, so this may be totally out of question.
  5. I know! So great! I've only ever paid $5 and sometimes my orders are huge..
  6. Same. All experiences have been excellent :)
  7. I've used these guys many times http://www.naturalpetstore.com.au/p/73/shop-by-brand/earthborn-holistic/ I am in Brisbane and my order usually comes a day or so later - so fast! I dont see why they couldn't get it to you, but maybe give them a call :) I believe their website is kept up to date so if its up it should be in stock.
  8. It is something that can happen unfortunately very clever! I am sure one day it will exist. My mums new car wont drive unless the seatbelt is being worn- so I imagine that this technology wouldn't be far from possible in all cars. Though it could get annoying when you just want to transport a box haha Already i will have to put the seatbelt around a heavy box as it thinks its a person and beeps at me..
  9. Movie gift card is a good idea! I love getting them too :)
  10. This is so sad Those poor trapped pets. Must have been terrifying.
  11. ooh- very clever! Hadn't thought of those
  12. Usually just sleeping hahah If its really hot i will be in the aircon- as will they. Otherwise we have mandatory 'dunkings' in the pool and they run around wet for the day. Kokoda would swim all day long but the other two arent fond of it. I just put them on the first pool step and they jump out again- but the relief you can see immediately. ETA: as we speak we are all on the couch doing it tough
  13. Ok- so firstly some background. I have a reciprocal dog sitting arrangement. I look after her cavalier and she looks after my 3 (i definitely get the good end of the deal i think! I am so lucky to have found her and her family- she just adores the boys.) whenever we go away. I provide their food, beds, flea stuff etc She wont accept money, so each time i buy a gift, previously chocolates, wine and last time I gave her a photo frame with some pictures of I took of her dog while she was staying with me. However, all these previous stays have been for a few days only. I will be leaving them with her for 3 weeks, which is a long time, and she still wont accept payment. So i am wondering if you can think of any nice gifts that I could give instead? I am honestly stumped- i feel this deserves more than a bottle of wine and chocolates but dont know what. So any ideas are helpful!
  14. Also wondering- hopefully all is good. Fingers crossed
  15. I feed twice per day, mainly I guess i am personifying the dogs- but i just imagine they'd get hungry otherwise. I couldn't imagine eating only once per day Thy dont get the hunger vomits, and this has always worked for us- so no reason to change. ETA: I don't know for sure, but also i feel blood sugars could spike too much too quickly if only fed once per day. Id rather they be more constant.
  16. A little different to a male wheaton But still SO gorgeous!! Happy gotcha day Didi Look forward to seeing many more
  17. I would say yes. However- my dogs dont need it. I care for their teeth with brushing, lots of bones, a raw diet and coconut oil. None of them have any tartar buildup yet -touchwood- and i hope to keep it that way
  18. Im not bothered when they greet me- but i know they dont make noise when i leave. whenever they see my keys (and not my keys and their leads) or hear the treat jar they run to their mats. Sometimes i think they are way too excited for me to leave so they get their treat I usually use a treat everytime as i put them outside and it makes it quicker but i dont have to and theyre fine too. When i come home its usually a serious of "woo"s and whines. Not so much barking.
  19. Sounds so much like our house.. my cat is a total a..hole too. Sometimes he'll just attack the dog if it looks at him. Or the other cat because its sleeping where he wants to.. He is so mean.
  20. It has been particularly quiet lately But yes, probably to facebook- with the groups that exist on there they are practically forums.
  21. While I am studying at uni I live at home at the moment with my younger sister and my mother. The dogs are all mine, as is one of our three cats. I pay for all their food. My family knows i train them my way etc. They are my dogs. I do what i want with them. However- the things we argue about are. Their weight- apparently i am starving them. When i pick up their still full bowl if they decide to be picky (only my youngest and leanest looking does this)- once again. Starving them and being cruel. and the cat biscuits- one of my dogs is allergic to it- however my mum doesnt care if they go and finish the bowl of food the cats havent You have no idea how many times the first has caused an argument- she was feeling particularly argumentative one day and said i didnt take care of my dogs and was a terrible owner I beg to differ! They are loved to death and healthy as can be. One day my menagerie and I will have our own place to do as we please And any future partners will have to accept that we all come as a package deal! ETA: i vacuum, mop, mow the lawn- do poo patrol. So none of that is ever an issue. As well as caring for her two cats- frequent grooming, flea and worm. I think she'll be in for a shock about how much i do for them when i leave again haha
