More love to Chase, I"ve had experience of this in both my children and one dog.

Chase is such a tough, happy little boy. I"m sure he will pull through. This is an extremely tough time for you all, you are doing great and doing everything possible to help him. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I went and saw Chase today. He looked even better. His eyes were bright and he was trying to force himself upon me and smother me in kisses, lol. He has eaten without throwing up and they have taken him off oxygen. I spoke to the vet nurse about not wanting to get my hopes up and she said if he was here dog she'd be pretty happy. She said of course there is potential for him to go down hill but she was fairly confident he would recover well. The specialist vet nurse in melbourne made it all sound so doom and gloom and my vets really dont seem that phased, which worries me that maybe they are too relaxed about it all. But anyways I think I have relaxed a little, as when I looked at him today you just wouldnt think he was that sick.

It horrifies me to think that I nearly gave up on him. The first time at home when I put him on the back seat of my car. For a split second the thought went through my head, "whats the point he is dead already" and to think I considered the worst option(albeit not for very long) on Thursday night of putting him to sleep with everyones pressure about not be able to afford the money. I am so glad I resisted them. I will always get a second opinion now. That has scared me so much, I could have lost him and I didnt need to.

Thank you again to all those thoughts and prayers, I will keep you updated on his progress. I know the vets need to drop in on him every 6 hours to give his meds so I might give the oncall number a ring and see if I can meet them there for his next dose which should be about 8. I dont want him to think I have deserted him, he must be so lonely and bored all couped up. I took a huge rawhide bone in just as they were closing at lunch time to see if he was allowed to have it. The nurses said they would check with the vet, poor boy needs something to do.

So pleased to have a positive update on Chase.

The Vet nurses in Melbourne could only say what they thought at the time and also it is much better to be aware the outcome may not be good rather than belive Chase would be okay and then have a sudden decline in his condition.

I wouldn't be too worried about Chase being bored he will need his rest to have strength to recover and then have energy to bounce on you when you visit.

Hope we get more positive news tomorrow

He wont be lonely and bored. Imagine how much fun the nurses are having with a big goofy puppy. He'll be having a great time and they'll all be inlove with him. When Pancake was ready to come home the nurses and vets wouldnt give her back because they hadnt finished with 'their' playtime :scared:

Couldn't see him last night, but met the on call vet there this morning. Apparently he isn't coughing as much today. I got to take him outside on a lead while she cleaned his cage as he had messed everywhere and spread it round, up the walls etc lol. Try telling him he is supposed to be sick, all the while he is jumping and throwing himself at me, lol. I may get to bring him home tomorrow afternoon once he is of the injectable anti biotics and on to oral, we'll see. I'm on my iPhone cos the power is off here, I jve tried to attach a pic but never done it on phone before, not even sure if i can, hopefully it works.

He didn't get his rawhide bone, and that's ok, it didn't hurt to ask, I just wanted him to be able to provide him with some sort of boredom relief if possible :scared:
