  1. Yes you can get it at Bunnings. I'm about to pull up my sunroom marine carpet (today) so if you were close you could have it! You may only need a piece like a hall runner, running from the door to the exit point off the deck?
  2. Another vote for marine carpet. It is cheap and indestructible!
  3. Thanks for that Powerlegs. I managed to score one of the bed pads that I am thinking I will cut in half for my old girls' bed.
  4. I've had good luck with belly bands. The ones I bought were very well made, reasonable in price and did the job. I put a cut up sanitary pad inside and he only peed once! He wore it for quite a few months (overnight) and never got out of it. Here's the link: http://stores.ebay.com.au/Fashion-Houndz/Pants-and-Bellybands-/_i.html?_fsub=2888653012
  5. Sorry to but in on your thread Bushriver, but TSD I am interested in learning more about Borders as I am looking for a new dog.
  6. I find Comfortis is best for fleas but I once had a vet tell me that dogs often bite around their back end because their anal glands are bothering them.
  7. That's interesting because I have sent quite a few kittens interstate over the many years that microchipping has been law in NSW, and never had any problems transferring the microchip details to the new owners. Also, now, we can do it ourselves online which is even more convenient.
  8. I bought one like this off ebay for my Persian cats and dogs. The one I have has a variable speed so I can start off low and then gradually turn it up, depending on how the cat/dog tolerates it. I'm very happy with it. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/2800W-Low-Noise-Pet-Hair-Dryer-Dog-Cat-Grooming-Blaster-Heater-Adjustable-Blower/282089042100?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D42400%26meid%3De2aaaa58be6a4ec7b81127008174d16c%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D6%26mehot%3Dpp%26sd%3D172011485216
  9. But I change my mind twice a day about what I want. lol There are too many awesome breeds to choose from!
  10. It's interesting that you have posted this Jed as I have been researching getting a Peke as my next dog. I came across this video earlier: Very cute Peke!
  11. I got the impression they took the two dogs with them on the holiday, but it isn't clear in the clip.
  12. I would be concerned pup is dehydrated and this is why she is lethargic. I think you need to take her to vet as it has been going on too long now for a tiny pup to cope with.
  13. A lot of Persian breeders use the Optrex eye wash that DDD has recommended. I use Kojo eye conditioner which can be used as an eye wash and stain remover. http://www.petnetwork.com.au/products/kojo-eye-conditioner-250ml?variant=15015009031
  14. Is it possible to gently bend the ear so it goes straight or is it fixed in this position? I rescued a pup who had prick ears that curled backward. As he grew, they straightened.
  15. It's good that she's had a reaction to the tick T - makes them easier to find!
  16. He has done a follow up video as the cats came back! Another good laugh and I especially like what he says at the end about the owners. :)
  17. You can just use a piece of something stretchy like t-shirt material or polar fleece and line it with a cheap sanitary pad if needed. Cut a long strip, wrap around the dog and tie it in a bow on top of the back as they need to fit firmly. You could taper the ends to make the bow/knot easier to tie.
  18. Not sure if this has already been posted but this petition has just come up in my Facebook feed through a pedigree cat group. There is someone working on the cat version as I post this: https://www.change.org/p/mr-andrews-victorian-parliment-save-the-purebred-dog-breeds-from-extinction?recruiter=612843470&utm_source=share_petition&utm_medium=copylink
  19. I've used Malaseb for feet problems before with great success. So I would soak his feet and when dry put the cream on. And also I'm pretty sure the prednisolone in the Amacin is a cortisone.
  20. He could also have a bladder or urinary tract infection. I would get a sample to the vet asap.
  21. I went into my local Council (Shoalhaven) last week and the person that served me was very helpful. She pulled all my records up on a screen that I could view and we went through them all, fixed the one where I had used my middle name and then I paid for my kitten's rego. When I got home I could then 'claim' my missing cat. So despite my initial problems, once I was more careful with my phone numbers and spacing, all worked out well.
  22. Hopefully some Maremma folk will be in to help. I've house minded for a friend with Maremma's a few times and they are easily spooked. Banging my shoes together a couple of times to get the loose grass off put them out of sorts all day! And I moved a blue plastic crate to where they went through the gate into the other paddock and they wouldn't go anywhere near the gate until I realised what I had done and moved it. Good luck. :)
  23. I'm so sorry to hear this news DDD. Thinking of you and sending you cyber hugs.
  24. I've claimed them all except for one where my middle name is on the certificate. None of the others have my middle name so I think that's where the problem lies. Hopefully Council can fix that as well!
