  1. But I change my mind twice a day about what I want. lol There are too many awesome breeds to choose from!
  2. It's interesting that you have posted this Jed as I have been researching getting a Peke as my next dog. I came across this video earlier: Very cute Peke!
  3. I got the impression they took the two dogs with them on the holiday, but it isn't clear in the clip.
  4. I would be concerned pup is dehydrated and this is why she is lethargic. I think you need to take her to vet as it has been going on too long now for a tiny pup to cope with.
  5. A lot of Persian breeders use the Optrex eye wash that DDD has recommended. I use Kojo eye conditioner which can be used as an eye wash and stain remover. http://www.petnetwork.com.au/products/kojo-eye-conditioner-250ml?variant=15015009031
  6. Is it possible to gently bend the ear so it goes straight or is it fixed in this position? I rescued a pup who had prick ears that curled backward. As he grew, they straightened.
  7. It's good that she's had a reaction to the tick T - makes them easier to find!
  8. He has done a follow up video as the cats came back! Another good laugh and I especially like what he says at the end about the owners. :)
  9. You can just use a piece of something stretchy like t-shirt material or polar fleece and line it with a cheap sanitary pad if needed. Cut a long strip, wrap around the dog and tie it in a bow on top of the back as they need to fit firmly. You could taper the ends to make the bow/knot easier to tie.
  10. Not sure if this has already been posted but this petition has just come up in my Facebook feed through a pedigree cat group. There is someone working on the cat version as I post this: https://www.change.org/p/mr-andrews-victorian-parliment-save-the-purebred-dog-breeds-from-extinction?recruiter=612843470&utm_source=share_petition&utm_medium=copylink
  11. I've used Malaseb for feet problems before with great success. So I would soak his feet and when dry put the cream on. And also I'm pretty sure the prednisolone in the Amacin is a cortisone.
  12. He could also have a bladder or urinary tract infection. I would get a sample to the vet asap.
  13. I went into my local Council (Shoalhaven) last week and the person that served me was very helpful. She pulled all my records up on a screen that I could view and we went through them all, fixed the one where I had used my middle name and then I paid for my kitten's rego. When I got home I could then 'claim' my missing cat. So despite my initial problems, once I was more careful with my phone numbers and spacing, all worked out well.
  14. Hopefully some Maremma folk will be in to help. I've house minded for a friend with Maremma's a few times and they are easily spooked. Banging my shoes together a couple of times to get the loose grass off put them out of sorts all day! And I moved a blue plastic crate to where they went through the gate into the other paddock and they wouldn't go anywhere near the gate until I realised what I had done and moved it. Good luck. :)
  15. I'm so sorry to hear this news DDD. Thinking of you and sending you cyber hugs.
  16. I've claimed them all except for one where my middle name is on the certificate. None of the others have my middle name so I think that's where the problem lies. Hopefully Council can fix that as well!
  17. I found my kitten and was able to claim him but even though I am listed as a breeder, when I went to pay his life time registration it came up as $195! I think I need a trip in to the local Council. Now I am going to try and claim the others again.
  18. How far apart are they? The don't look to be close enough together for the shock collars I have seen but I guess there are different types.
  19. I signed up last night and had a few dramas. I did post in this thread about it but can't see it now! Out of 7 microchips I was able to claim 1!
  20. Kirty where are you cats? Did they find a bed with less competition? I once woke up with the stiffest neck and couldn't move - had a fleeting thought I was paralysed. I discovered I had a small cat curled around the top of my head.
  21. He could have impacted anal glands - very common in small breed dogs.
  22. The door is a little small and could probably be added too, but it would be fiddly, so time consuming, so costly.
  23. Dogs are lucky in that when things like this happen they learn to cope very quickly. I wake my old dogs by gentling touching them or by treading heavily near their beds. If they don't hear me when outside, I gently touch them or brush their sides lightly and give the command verbally with a hand signal. Tonight my Cav tried to come in with an uneaten chicken neck so when she looked up I pointed outside and she turned and went straight out, I didn't have to make sound. Although with her I think it is selective deafness!
